  • this didnt tell me how to wire a garage it just told me how much it will cost for someone to wire a garage for me

  • Wow...that was a waste of time.

  • I was expecting a description on how to connect wires to a source of power (either the breaker box or an active outlet) and around the room. This videio demonstrates neither.

  • So to recap...

This is how you wire a garage... call an electrician to put you some of them there double breakers in, then after he leaves run some shitty looking PVC on the wall. Make sure not to put in the required GFI protection, go with the cheap ol' regular receptacle . And don't bother buying those professional looking industrial covers, just get a mud ring and a single gang plate.

  • Misleading video. dislike

  • ehow has too many ads and not enough content. Flag this video for being misleading. It doesnt tell you how at all.

  • be sure to staple your multi-plug strip to the wall.

  • Yeah this sucked

  • Wow. What a helpful video! The only thing you need to do is look in the yellow pages and hire an electrician and your garage is wired. W.T.F.

  • You should have considered actually giving information about how "To Wire A Garage" instead of how to hire someone to wire a garage. How to wire a garage (in my opinion) should give information about figuring someones breaker demands for equipment, then the wire sizing for demand in relation to breaker sizing. Then it would be nice to see how to install the breakers and wiring and outlets. (your next post should be: "How to hire someone to satisfy a wife."

  • In other words (similarly), How to build an Awsome Muscle Car: Buy a muscle car that needs restoring because it is not what you want when you buy it. #2 Take the muscle car to someone that can restore it for you. When you get it back, wax it for the final touch & then you can drive it and show it off as your very own muscle car that you restored. Yes You restored it because if you hadn't paid for it, it wouldn't be your restored muscle car.

    - I thought this guy was going to wire his garage. NO

  • is that panel rated for mini breakers

  • 3 20amp circuits !! Are you growing weed in there!!! 1 maybe 2!!! I installed temp power in a new house getting built , and all trades used it and never once tripped(1 20 amp circuit).

  • @boomster999 lol... 1 hp compressor will suck that 20 amp circuit right up... if you're using a nice saw and compressor aswell and somw electric impact wrenches he has it perfect

  • @sackofruit420 1 hp is only 746 watts

  • @tonyteb yes but in ur code but 430.32 continuous load man if you had continous load of a 1hp even on a 15 it will eventually fry her

  • couldnt you say hire someone in less time than 2:41? terrible.

  • this helped me ZERO! im watching videos to learn how to do it my self and all u can say is pay someone $175 to do it for me.

  • so the answer is hire some 1? then u say its easy to do after they do the intial part but u dont do that either? please stop making youtube videos TY

  • The dumb electrician he had do the wiring didn't even do it right!!!! The grounding plugs for the outlets are supposed to be upward to meet the current codes. What a dope!!

  • rjartman, show us an NEC code section on grounds up or down on a receptacle.

He does however need pvc straps on that conduit and GFI protection in the garage.

  • @rjartman fail

  • if i'm gonna go as far as strapping conduit to the wall, i think i'd rather have EMT instead of PVC. i don't know what kind of equipment and/or lighting he has in that place, but could you not eliminate a branch circuit from somewhere. i'm not the biggest fan of those double breakers. it looks as if everything is up to code, i just think i'd do it different!

  • Wow 2 min and 41 sec for a video called how to wire a garage just to say hire someone?

  • wow that dude is a duesh, that outlet looked like it was glued together i dont know ...really, what electrician is going to do all the work except wire the device in..i dont know

  • I learned zero. Thank you for wasting my time.

  • Check out his power strip with the extension cord running across the room...lol!

  • couldnt turn the video off fast enough to comment on the scabbed in power strip free-floating airborne in this guys garage... nice catch

  • I'm Tim Gibson, hire an electrician and quit wasting your time with my Boobtube vids.

Adding a circuit to your panel is one of the easiest things you can do. Turn the main power off, take your time, read a book and don't kill yourself.

  • I'm an electrician, thankyou.

  • hahahahahahaha u dont have to turn the main breaker off hahahahahahahaha

  • Typically, if you dont have enough space in your main panel, you could do what you did, wich is put tandem breakers in, or if your main panel is already in your garage, you can take two circuits out of the main, install a 100 amp 2 pole breaker or whatever the electrician thinks you may need for the equipment your running, and off that breaker, install a subpanel near or next to your main that has enough spaces for the garage circuits and the two circuits you took out of your main panel.

  • This isn't how to, this how to get someone else to do it. "How To Wire Your Garage"---------Hire an electrition.

  • ELECTRICIAN

  • Good work. Your the best.
