  • @kellitowriting: Both views are correct. God predestined and elected you to, of your own free will, choose to follow Jesus. If it was only the elect, why would Jesus say "When I be lifted up, I will draw ALL men unto me."? Jesus is constantly, always calling to the unsaved. Whether they choose Him is their choice. He is calling "whosoever WILL (the choice is ours) may come."

  • my friend i a hyper calvanist hah tiz hard lol

  • My experience is that God works in a man's heart to draw him - but that this drawing is NOT irresistible. A soul may turn away (of its own volition,) from God's drawing (or "wooing.")

To say that God must first give you a new heart is utterly false. He may, by His drawing, cause you to consider things in a new light, but it is your current heart that either gives up or runs away.

  • Puritan Fellowship? You've got to be kidding me. This is Pelagian Legalism! If someone is doubting never, I repeat NEVER point them to the law. The soul purpose of the law is to condemn a man and magnify his sin before a trice hold God. If someone is doubting POINT THEM TO THE GOSPEL FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!

  • A person would never say to themselves, "I would love to come to Jesus" unless HE has ALREADY DRAWN YOU.

  • Amen, come to Jesus and be saved.

  • Amen Brother!

  • I am a fairly new believer and I am still trying to figure out the whole " God draws us in first" scripture. I have been praying fervently for God to reveal through his scripture the correct doctrine on this to me.I have heard both sides and I still struggle. Romans 9 is pretty clear but I am still confused.....
