It's set in 1913, just seen it on the Yesterday channel, excellent drama.

It is only polite to bend like the reed. He is not 'brave.' but rude, dismissive and disrespectful. He is being helped by his uncle and living in his uncle's house. God is recognised in all countries, just referred to by different names.
