I lived in China for a month, there is no more isolating feeling you could ever experience. In the middle of the information age, the general public of China remains completely cut off... ignorant to information that is freely available to the rest of the world. Maybe it's worth the economic trade-off that the Chinese government sees... most Chinese seem not to mind it.... but I wouldn't trade my life here in the USA for anything. 西方媒体对我们的不信任，不理解，甚至敌意攻击确实伤害了我们。但我作为一个生活在外国的中国人清楚地看到，国人对于这些不平等宣传做出的任何反应（包括在世界各地的抗议游行）都成了西方媒体进一步妖魔化中国的口实。
对此，我想说的是，请忽略他们。中国之所以有今天的成就，正是因为长期韬光养晦的外交政策与专注经济发展的务实精神。当西方媒体围绕人权问题大作文章的时候，我们埋头做自己的事。当美国在世界各地打得不亦乐乎的时候，我们依然埋头做自己的事。中国从来不想成为像美国一样的超级霸权，因此，我们不需要在国际上浪得虚名，也不需要西方媒体的信任与理解。只要这些事没有威胁到中国的本质利益，华人们就会默默无闻的立于纷争之外，走自己的路。时间一到，实力将会说明一切。
相信呆在国外的华人们相或多或少都遭到过不平等待遇，但是我们可以忍辱负重，告诉西方人我们不需要你们的支持，以强者的姿态永远屹立。

I lived in China for a month, there is no more isolating feeling you could ever experience. In the middle of the information age, the general public of China remains completely cut off... ignorant to information that is freely available to the rest of the world. Maybe it's worth the economic trade-off that the Chinese government sees... most Chinese seem not to mind it.... but I wouldn't trade my life here in the USA for anything. Freedom > Wealth, but that's just my opinion.

@c0unterph0bia Part of the reason for the great majority of the Chinese population being cut off from a broad spectrum of information and competing narratives is that for them ignorance is bliss. In short yes they may struggle to earn nearly as much as a drunken yobo of an "English Teacher" who can earn 5,000 yuan a month for simply showing up (mostly), yes they may never own a car or apartment or travel abroad. But they are part of the "ETERNAL VIRTUOUS MORALLY INFALLIBLE CHINESE NATION"
