or maybe its just an American term "leak" . hope i didn't upset the author/producer, its a great video , everyone should get their systems checked regularly. peace : )
carbon monoxide does not leak from pipes or joints. carbon monoxcide is created at the burning point of the natural gas fire due to a poorly set up appliance.
carbon monoxidie is not even in the pipe,so showing the pipes is misleading,
carbon monoxcide is created when natural gas is burnt inefficiently.
@rainbowsalads I just did a quick google and my comment is correct.
here is a clip from hse dot gov:
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colourless, odourless, tasteless, poisonous gas produced by incomplete burning of carbon-based fuels, including gas, oil, wood and coal. Carbon-based fuels are safe to use. It is only when the fuel does not burn properly that excess CO is produced, which is poisonous. When CO enters the body, it prevents the blood from bringing oxygen to cells, tissues, and organs. .
Good try. If you want to be safe go get a CO AUTHORITY co detector .this is the only co detector that they instal in your duct work and will turn off your furnace if it leaks the carbon monoxide .
I've been experiencing all of these symptoms from time to time for a long time. I've had a first alert carbon monoxide alarm since nov. 2004, and the alarm has never sound off. As of today, I'm hearing a beep sound approx. every 35 seconds from the battery light only. Do I need to change the battery or...... also, if a person have a clutter apt, do you think that would contribute to carbon monoxide symptoms, cuz I've been living in my apt for 15 yrs plus.
If the alarm went off, I'd turn off the fuel appliances, open the windows and go out and let the house vent, The symptoms of CO exposure are not immedetly noticeable
