That was beautiful. Man. I just want to jump in front of a school bus, scarring children for life, just so their pain prevents them from feeling the hollowness that follows listening to this.
it's nice and musical. I"m a little disturbed by the way he ignores the pauses though. With a piece like this, there's a lot said in the moments when you are saying nothing.
For this guy, there aren't any moments when he's saying nothing. He just keeps driving.
Herre-Jan Stengenga, a Tortellier student, principal cello here of the Netherlands Phil. Chamber Orchestra plays the first two quarters slurred together, the 3rd in a separate bow. I was amazed, but it worked! It is a kind of Baroquie bowing but it does fit the phrase! I do love your bow changes, like liquid! Nice cut, Misha!
wow!! it made me tremble................perfect!! but the best performance i ever heard for this piece was in the anime la corda d'oro primo passo!thanks fo sharing
Mark Salzman, the author of True Notebooks, played this piece at a juvenile hall of delinquent boys. Salzman said it reminded him of his mother. He made the whole room of juveniles cry that night. Very inspiring piece. Thanks for posting!
i've to disagree a tiny bit, i prefer yoyoma's vibrato, his seems a little on the more rapid side. anyhow, i love his tone and excellent bow changes! makes my insides melt
Uh. Nothing to think a littel further, though..... Be it as it may, you can be sure, that the whole crowd will be weeping their hearts out ;-) Take your time til then, ok?

Still, it does sound beautiful. Just rushed.

A very majestic song. You can just picture the graceful swan glide through the water as you hear each note. Thank you for posting this!

Ce duo de musiciens forme un ensemble très plaisant !
Les compositions de Saint-Saens sont merveilleuses, avec un côté presque magique !
Incontournable !

Wonderful piece. I prefer the harp for introduction and background - it better with the swan, because there's more fragility in it. Agree?

it's all about how you interpret it. music was never meant to be played exactly the same, twice.
