What unions do is fight for worker rights , fair wages , and safe conditions on the job . Without that big companies could do what they want . I'm a real estate appraiser and a former UFCW member. I understand far more about the construction trade, unions, and political corruption than you realize. My son-in-law is a union electrician. They only fight for worker rights (allegedly) while there is a paycheck to abscond dues from. Ask the textiles or steel workers how much the union cared as they priced the industry wages right out of our borders and out of a job.

They get by with what they can and hope that people don't report it to the union or the BWC if they get hurt . I don't think they always work against me but most of the time they do . I'm assuming nothing. My son-in-law works for a large union shop. The IEBW did not represent or stand behind injured members when fired, no matter who was at fault. The members were told not to 'rock the boat' for others by the union reps. These were talented electricians, not slackers. The union did nothing. The workers are left utilizing the same employment and worker safety laws of non union members. Those are FACTS.

As for the dem vs. republican argument, you're missing something about what the TEA Party really is. It's not simply republicans. It's a cross section of many different backgrounds. Many repubs, yes as it's conservative to the core, but no lock step with Michael Steele, GW Bush, John McCain or others. The corruption must stop and the democratic republic must be revived. its actually a good idea. This is a real problem especially for some fields, where young people cant get a job anymore because they are competing with 50 year olds with 25 years experience.

The drawback however, is more retirees will increase ss spending, and SS doenst pay enough to support people. taxes would have to increase, or cut spending on something else.

The better plan IMHO is to do medicare for all, remove employer mandates. That will give companies more income to hire more people

Medicare for all and no employer requirement to provide insurance is a much better policy.

3. You need to prove that you are actively looking for a job for the periods your on unemployment or you will be charged with Fraud, and sentenced to jail.

4. unemployment benefits are still taxed.

The big reason old people keep working is to have health care. Removing employer mandates would also cut company overhead costs, which means they can hire more people

Taxes might have to go up to cover the cost but Id rather pay 20.00 more tax than pay ins premiums
