as a virginia tech student who was there on that fateful day i can thank you for the confort that everyone has provided us from that day on. thank you
That's not true. These videos get linked on various blogs. And my point is that some people like yourself, criticize her for posting it. Others would criticize her if they thought she hadn't mentioned the tragedy. She would be criticized either way.
ArchNME, Pelosi didn't spend millions of dollars to market how she proclaimed a moment of silence. She didn't exactly put it on a billboard if you get what I'm saying, this is youtube! Okay? She puts up copies of important moments during her term as Speaker of the House. I think she was absolutely genuine, all she did was put it on her youtube account! =)
This was very moving and I certainly think Speaker Pelosi had some composure speaking to all of the Congress in asking for an observance of silence. This truly shows, in my opinion, she cares about what has happened at Virginia Tech.
You are so out of line and ridiculous, thatbamma, that I don't think you realize how idotic you sound! If she didn't care, then why would she be up there asking for a moment of silence with love to those of the Virginia Tech community? Please, do answer me now, I hope you realize now how absurd you sound.
Pelosi has demonstrated, IN THE PAST not with this event, that she isn't concerned with anything except saying what makes her look nice. ArchNME has hit on my thoughts, it's one thing to be sad, it's another to brag about how sad you are.
The amount of criticism Pelosi takes is ridiculous compared to recent speakers. Americans need to accept the fact that a female speaker can do a fine job, and then stop trying to reduce anything she does to a self-serving act. Get over yourself.
A female speaker can do as much good as any male speaker has done. (not that I think any particular Speaker has done great things) She is however, highly and exclusively politicized. She is concerned only, as far as I see, with making Bush look bad.
Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with MRFBluth here, I'm sorry but come on man! She cares about America! You are just not ready to admit that a woman can do that . She is sincere, she has passion, if she didn't she just wouldn't run for office. Period!
I don't have any problem with our Speaker being a woman. I don't know how you got that out of my comments. I have a problem with our Speaker being THAT woman. Do you understand the difference?

That was touching. I'm glad they did that.

It's one thing to have a moment of silence, it's another to post it and show it off. It almost makes me question the geniuness of the gesture.

Ridiculous. If she didn't post it, you'd probably hear other people whining about how insensitive she was. She can't win either way.

Bullshit. Nobody would even notice if Nancy Pelosi didn't post this video on YouTube. I mean be serious.

You're a fool. Tragedies are not partisan issues.

Free speech is not a partisan issue either.
