ArchNME, Pelosi didn't spend millions of dollars to market how she proclaimed a moment of silence. She didn't exactly put it on a billboard if you get what I'm saying, this is youtube! Okay? She puts up copies of important moments during her term as Speaker of the House. I think she was absolutely genuine, all she did was put it on her youtube account! =)

This was very moving and I certainly think Speaker Pelosi had some composure speaking to all of the Congress in asking for an observance of silence. This truly shows, in my opinion, she cares about what has happened at Virginia Tech.

Pelosi has demonstrated, IN THE PAST not with this event, that she isn't concerned with anything except saying what makes her look nice. ArchNME has hit on my thoughts, it's one thing to be sad, it's another to brag about how sad you are.

The amount of criticism Pelosi takes is ridiculous compared to recent speakers.  Americans need to accept the fact that a female speaker can do a fine job, and then stop trying to reduce anything she does to a self-serving act. Get over yourself.

A female speaker can do as much good as any male speaker has done. (not that I think any particular Speaker has done great things) She is however, highly and exclusively politicized. She is concerned only, as far as I see, with making Bush look bad.
