Keep Sky Dive Long Island there, open a 3/4 mile racetrack and a drag strip. Use the rest of the open space for music and art festivals similar to bonnaroo and coachella
As a mourner of the loss of Bridgehampton Raceway, I continue to have hope that a new road course will be built on Long Island in my lifetime. It baffles me that a silly ski mountain got the nod when this development is fairly simplistic and would clearly get support from all the car enthusiasts on Long Island. In an era when 'country club' road courses are being built, I hope this project prevails. I hope this news you speak of is exciting!
I remember reading about this in the media, i personally liked this one better. You are the firm that is involved in riverhead redevelopment. All that hype and I haven't seen anything different, any comments about the progress?
Thank You for the Compliment on our EPCAL proposal.........
Yes, The Downtown Redevelopment of Riverhead is our project, and we are caught in this ever changing economic and political envirorment like everyone else....but don't lose hope, there are some things about to happen which might be a nice suprise for everyone.
The condos would be for racing enthusiasts so I don't think they would complain, being that the would be occupying a place knowing where it was located.
Whatever you may think, the Motorsports residential units were never an issue with the Town. The Track itself has always been the STUMBLING POINT, whether at 80,000 seats or 10,000 seats.....the NAYSAYERS have always been afraid of the BIG WEEKEND EVENTS, the Traffic and how it would be handled....and the fear of NOISE, no matter how much evidence to the contrary was presented. To bad, but who knows what the futures to bring!
