It's really not a fad. It's similar to the KK Slider trend, but I think I was the first person to use THIS game's soundfont for a song and upload it. I really know nothing about the game or character though.
So don't worry. You know just as much as the creator in this case.
Remember how to rip a KK Slider sound font from Animal Crossing: Wild World using VgmTrans? You can rip soundfonts from a wide variety of DS games with that program, including Big Brain Academy.
I just used the same method for that; I just had to set the midi up differently. I'll post many more experiments like this, using other games lol.
