  • thanks for the reply ,in the specs for the 5ooo it does mention a optional 2 slide tracer carriage ,but ive never seen one,although i think this would not be in my budget,i have made a limeter bar which allows me to graduate the cuts on deep profiles in 5-10mm increments i was inspired after seeing a similliar device on a wema lathe . this allows me to turn straight cylinders too it works really well,i will keep trying as i enjoy a challenge .

  • John. Yes both knives are at a fixed setting. The first knike taking the majority or lions share of the cut. The second knife cuts the remaining 1/4" or so. If the knives are sharp and the post balanced, then little sanding is required. I don't know if the hapfo 5000 can be adapted or not.

  • Great video i would like to learn more about the twin knife cutting action do both knives stay at a fixed setting throughout the cut , my lathe has 1 cutter and i remove waste carefully with a gouge i would like to know more could i buy a mount for mounting 2 knives like yours my lathe is a hapfo 5000hydro thanks john
