  • Me encanta esta canción!!=)

  • NY has pretty damn good culture...unlike some other countries....like Australia

  • Really? I grew up on the UWS, and only freshers have that kind of attitude. Unless you're B&T, that might explain the anger...

  • Yeah, Manhattan stopped being "real" New York in the 80's. "True" New York is Brooklyn (parts), Queens, Bronx and Staten Island.

Trust me. Grew up in the Outer Boroughs and been living in Manhattan for years. Manhattan sucks.

  • We should've fucked up the entire Middle East for what those cocksuckers did on Sept 11. Where is America's thirst for vengence? We sure as hell shouldn't be over there building them their own little governments, the assfucks. We should just level their entire civilization and teach them what it is to mess with the USA. Send them back to the stone age. My God, what would the Romans have done if they'd had our weapons? We should be kicking way more ass than we are.

  • Wow you are a dipshit.

  • No, I am magnificent, wonderful, and beautiful. You, on the other hand, are a fucktard.

  • The atmosphere of New York looks fantastic. i can't wait to travel to the city that never sleeps.

    This song is pretty good..

  • ryan and mandy sittin' in a tree! m-a-r-r-i-e-d!!!!! (soon anyways) woo hoo! CONGRATS!!

  • Yawn.

  • So bittersweet. I'll always love you New York, too!

  • chris helme is our ryan adams the british version

  • great song!

  • Damn. I can't believe it... just the enormity of the towers.

jeez... people were in the towers that day, not knowing their lives were doomed. great song.

  • rockin!

  • I've never been in New York, but is one of the dreams i have, travel there and know the big apple

  • i love this song very deep especially after 9/11!

  • God, I own this album and I love it, but this is the first time I've seen this video, and it actually makes me cry. I'm a New Yorker, and there is so much S@#T to deal with sometimes, we forget what we have, but there is no better place to live in the world. Yeah, sometimes this city can beat you like a dog, but we've been through so much, and I still love you, New York.

  • G'day trublgrl, i'm from West Australia and this clip still brings a tear to my eye, the towers in the background and all those innocent people, i saw Ryan in Melbourne a few years ago and he was awesome!

  • Are you a real New Yorker, or, did you move here from Michigan, or Tennessee, or Ohio (or some other bumblef*ck state) two years ago, get a sh*tty studio you pay way too much for on the Upper Eastside and now you CALL yourself a New Yorker? There's a BIG difference.

F*cking yuppie transplants, you ruined the heart and soul of my City!

  • LOL....umm... many who are transplants to NYC, John Lennon was one

  • FUCKIN' eh!!

  • Na there's people who think that everywhere... I live in Texas and if you were born in Oklahoma 2 mins. from the boarder of Texas there is a good number of people who wouldn't consider you a Texan. It's just as stupid in New York as it is in Texas.

  • So much grounded joy in this song - love it loads.

  • This song and "Private Andrew Malone" brought tears to my eyes in the days and weeks after 9/11 they where so real and it was amazing they where made before that horrid day.

  • This is like seeing a home movie of a family member that died. It is a video of not how the World Trade Center was destroyed, but of the World Trade Center as it was, not of bad memories but of good memories. Do u concur?

  • This song has nothing to do with the WTC or 9/11. This video and song were wrote recorded before the trade center fell.

  • before it all changed.

  • This song is actually about Ryan's love for new York from the VH-1 show "Flava of Love" ...I'M KIDDING! RELAX! I love Ryan Adams but someone please tell him about the benefits of shampoo! =o)

  • dude he's a rolling stone!

  • nominated for best album at grammys...of course the best album never wins.

  • it reminds me very much of "Tangled up in blue"

  • i kinda know what you mean unebelette

actually bobs album love and theft came out september 11th of that year

  • you would get away with your case on the

verse for sure if you were to just hum both of them the chourse sounds like it's taken from another song actually can't place it I think it's a tom petty song. I am out of the loop who knows maybe this is a cover and I am nuts of well. But never the less if nobody sues then I guess you are free to be ryan adams and sing it but thanks for the post.

  • bottom line, ryan adams can write songs, tom petty cant. the good material and sound tom petty has was stolen from The Dwight Twilley Band, a band he occasionally sat in with.

  • ok look ryan for his age is accomplished for a song writer, a future bob dylan. Look stolen sound or not you cant say NO matter what that tom petty dosent know how to write songs. I disagree on all levels. Now which person DO I think could be a better all around writer it would be close but you forget stolen or not the artist who can offer a certain sound the world is inetersted in hearing tours, and sells millions. Tom petty does this, no matter how he get's it done, but thanks for you views!

  • Hey JungleDisease,Petty can write songs! Nothing against R.A.(have all his c.d.'s)and with all do respect to the Dwight Twilley Band, but, they didn't have a single thing to do with any of T.P.'s numerous hit songs. And even if he had stolen from them, he has still stolen far more from the Byrds, than he has from Dwight Twilley!

  • ok so the entire video is of him in front of the towers....thats crazy

  • the actual cd was released on 9/11/01 as well, i remember just staring at it when we got it at my college radio station.

  • hey what college? and do you guys still

have a radio station or just pod casts?

thanks for the 9-11 comments as well.. I think we were all staring at something that day...

  • It was KUMM at the University of Minnesota Morris, They still do live broadcasts and supposedly online broadcasting. They're classic phrase is "the u-90 alternative, the only station that can put KUMM in your ear"

  • cool thanks for getting back with me... I am a new artist working on my first release I wish to tour nationaly with and I am asking allot of questions about radio, i.e college

    radio, internet, cable shows, everything.

A girl I talked with said her college changed to podcasts... thanks for the energy!

  • this is super crazy...not only was this shot 4 days before 9/11, but the opening shot is of him under the Brooklyn Bridge and you can see the World Trade Towers

  • jesus christ.

    just imagine 4 days later.

  • Very sad.

  • I'll always love you though New York

  • It's really weird to think that this was shot four days before 9/ll. Eerie.

  • freaky.

  • LOL.. Yeah.. New York is cool.. I wouldn't live there if ya payed me, but it's worth a visit for sure.. The statue alone makes it worth it..

  • It is wild that he decided to catch the towers in the various lightings throughout an entire day. It certainly makes you pause.

  • oh, i still love you NEW YORK!

great song for an AMAZING city!!!

  • one of my favorites. new york, here i come.

  • really great city; I was in summer 01' there (while flying from Europe over to LA;stayed there for about 2 days)

and it was enough to say:it was more than worth it; but not enough ! I actually think everything was said, beside: you need to know a Site for almost all general issues on the net:

    int-guide dot com /general

this no spam ~ recommending you sth useful (hope you understand the difference)

  • was in NYC a month ago..what an incredible incredible place

  • yea it is, isn't it?

i've lived there my whole life and i still can't get enough of it

  • ill always love new york

  • This vid was shot on location. It was a big deal back in 2001 b/c this was one of the last things in pop culture that caught the towers as they stood prior to 9/11.

  • great song

  • love this song and the vibe. never seen the video, so thanks for posting. love NYC too. Greetings from the UK

  • Did you edit that text in the video or was that in the video?

  • The text was in the video. It was inserted by the record company, Lost Highway Records, after the events of 9/11.

  • um telephoto mayhaps

  • Mate, they just change the aperture of the camera to cause that effect. Its quite common in horror movies where the subject stays at the center, seemingly unmoved, whilst the background appears to move.

  • That's really cool. Thanks for that. It all makes sense now!

  • Amazing the way they get the background to zoom without zooming in on the subject at 1:56. To do that without greenscreen is incredible! And the way the distance from the buildings changes throughout and the light is always on his right despite going from morning to night. Very clever stuff!

  • There's no greenscreen...do some research. Why do you find it so hard to believe that somebody would shoot a video at this time? The Trade Towers would of been an absolute hive of activity in the days and weeks leading up to 9/11, that's why it was such an attractive target for the terrorists

  • Like I said... clever stuff. I don't know how they did it but it must have taken a lot of work to make the vid.

  • The video was shot on location at the Towers on the 7th Sept 2001. Like most videos that footage is then edited, some scenes may be spliced together or superimposed on others. Why don't you go and find a plausible conspiracy theory? Why would they choose a date four days before the event, why not the day before if they were trying to perpertrate a fraud? Why would Ryan Adams donate all profits from the video to 9/11 charities? Piss off troll.

  • that kind of zoom is achieved by moving the camera forward while zooming out. they just did it very slowly to make it more subtle.

  • wonderful song,I remember seeing this after sept 11th ,brought tears to my eyes, thanks so much for sharing..

  • You shouldn't spread false rumors. It is not a greenscreen.

  • back up of the date? looks like a greenscreen to me

  • I love this song. It is so wierd to see the towers in the background though. Imagine that, this was shot 4 days before that...Just think about that, you could be anywhere today, and you never know if in a day or so it could be gone....
