Faith and love for God doesn't come from knowing what's in the bible though. I know what you're getting at, but I can love god and call myself a Christian without having read the full Bible and knowing everything about it. I do intend on doing so though! :)

I am not saying every single detail but what ew teach about the gospel IS THE BIBLE! youc ant just say "Hey im a Christian and I dont care about the bible its ok if I dont read it." IF some (not all) religious groups here in my country (like The INC for instance) use bloody-VIOLENCE to destroy those OTHER Christians who oppose them, and using Scripture to JUSTIFY their stance, how much more so IF "loving one's enemies" in The New Testament wasn't written? Think about it. They would have more REASON for violence---as YOU would in justifying martial-arts.
Isiah 63:3---yeah right, midear. I can add Ezekiel 9:6 "Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children---(there are several, actually). would YOU do it if you were commanded the same today I guess.

Im not a christian, but i am happy that some are actually reading the bible. A lot of people call themselves christians and haven't even touched a bible. Then when you bring up the cruel things in the Old testament and revelations, they will say. "the bible doesn't say that"

I would suggest reading the Holman Christian Standard Version, English Standard Version, or the New American Standard Version because these versions are in plain modern English and the most accurate translations to date. Especially the Holman. Whatever you do, DO NOT read The Message for it is a heretical paraphrase.
