Some times clinically depressed younger people show signs of being happy go lucky people on the out side but in fact are depressed with no tell tale signs what so ever.No one could have changed Michaels mind if he appeared to be planning this for months maybe years.We all must try not to hold onto how or why he died but how he lived.He had the grace;he made his choices through-out his life and his mom respected him for that.God too has plans for him.
My 1st question is that if Marie saw "Warning Signs" the night before he did this.. and knowing how upset he was the night before, why didn't she just ignore the stage to pick up the phone? It could have meant saving this poor kid.Why didn't she put him on a plane to her or fly out to him right away?Especially if he had Attempted Suicide" before?
He seemed happy because he was under medication. I suffered severed depression for 3 years and I was also very close to doing something stupid. When you stop takin medication all of the sudden it can be life threatening, you dont think in a rational way, you just feel so scared to continue living... I understand how he felt and I feel so sorry no one was there to stop him
I can tell you from experience. I have always enjoyed life to the fullest but lately have become depressed. I have been battling a health issue, that is unknown but taking my life away. My happy days are gone, my smile is gone, the only thing keeping me here is my hope and that hope is in Jesus Christ. Without Him, I would probably not be here. You might never understand but it can happen to the happiest of people. I am living proof of that. Just be supportive,pray and do all you can.

it's so hard to understand and to find peace. But the best way to show your love for Michael is to live your life to the fullest and cherish his memory. God bless you and your friends. Lyn
@jwb012335 - Thank you for sharing this with us. I know how Ruthann feels. When I was a teenager, I had a close friend complete her suicide via drug overdose and left a note for me. I cried myself to sleep for many months after that, trying to cope with the "why did this happen" question. It's not easy being left behind like that. And like President Monson said, we must rely on the Lord and try not to ask "Why." RIP Michael! You are loved and missed so much.
@uttaprawat True but this isn't rare. I've heard stories of suicide numerous times where the person who died seemed to be the last person in the world anyone would have thought would end their life. One thing is clear. Never take for granted that you know 100% whats going on in a loved one's mind. Because you don't. This is sad.

One thing is clear. Never take for granted that you know 100% whats going on in a loved one's mind. Because you don't. This is sad.
