I always like when people post their own recordings of Bruce Springsteen concerts on youtube instead of the professional done tapings. It captures the emotions more. Thanks for posting.
I've seen Springsteen well over 100 times. First time, 09/78. Hooked ever since. Thunder Road has been played tons of time and a crowd favorite. It's a pretty song when played accoustic, as is Born to Run. Last played accoustic in 89.
I was at this show also. I remember it was his 2nd show that weekend. He played Darlington County the night before but not this night. *tear* Oh well maybe this year. See you guys on May 12th and god bless.
We went as a family to this show (daughters 14,18). We were a couple rows back, but this awesome fan kept exchanging his spot right on the stage so my kids could be right there. When Bruce said "we got a lot of young folks down here tonight", i think they were included. I am so glad my luck played out (this was the closest I hve ever been) when I was able to share it with my whole family. It was a night none of us will forget. At the end, Bruce gave my youngest his pic! Wow.
I was also here this night and it was absolutely insane that he played Thunder Road. Im only 23 and had seen him four times before this and found out that he never played it live. Every time I went I prayed to God he might play it and all it took was a little kid to request for the BOSS to play it. What a legend, truly respects his fans and recognizes that a little kid knows Thunder Road that he is truly something special. the Boss is the man wish he could run our country
I went to the Sunday night show instead of the Monday night when he was in Chicago. I was so furious I missed Thunder Road. I'm only 19 so seeing that song would be a dream for me. If only bruce could read this.. Me and my buddy are going to see him in Indiapolis March 20th in hopes that he plays Thunder Road. We're bringing a sign with that says Thunder Road! Wish us luck! We're both saps for the song and agreed to call our girlfriends if it's played.. crying! lol
amazing! thanks for posting this, it's my fiance's favorite song, this was his 6th time seeing The Boss and the first time he got to hear it live!!! Seeing this video just takes me back to his reaction when we watched/heard it live that night!, so THANK YOU! :)
R.I.P. Clarence, you will be missed but the angels just got the greatest sax player ever!

You are most certainly welcome....I've been a big fan since 1980 and I'll never forget some of those same type of "first time' feelings!
