You are of course right, but it is also fair to say that the banjo is an American instrument as it was recreated by African slaves in America and the Caribbean as an imitation of those original instruments and has since developed independently of them.
mezobarno You can't do the same with a plectrum without losing something. You need that 5th string. I've never heard Jens make a mistake. He's certainly not typical or human. He must come from a musical planet where everyone is perfect...LOL. You heard it a million times Jens, but I'll say it again. YOUR FANTASTIC! I love the music you write and your playing. You're greatly admired both as a personality and banjo player.
Really musical and listenable banjo playing. We all know you have the chops, but this shows something that is universal to anyone who wants to listen to music.
Thank you Jens. Do you have any advice for doing the same thing on plectrum banjo?
Love the banjo, i hope to make one of these mine for my retirement in two years. Hey Jens its Joe from the old grey dogs, it was great to see you at Huddersfield this year and thanks for your kind words. continued success to to you all.....Joe

Sounds like Russian dancing on a banjo. Love to have that model but way out of my price range.

That Swiss alloy for bell bronze really gives it that "music box" articulation and brilliance!

You are truly a Master of the banjo!
You bring such a wonderful new dimension to this great American instrument.
When you play, you open the doors and graciously invite everyone in to share in the joy. Thank you! It is a pleasure to hear you play.

@MSJLDeering Don't mean to burst your bubble but the banjo is of African descent.
