If only Elvis could've been saved by a person who loved him with no desire for personal gain, unfortunatly all who really loved Elvis that were in his life were pushed back from him by the leeches that latched on and used him to his breaking point. Atleast now Elvis can rest and be at peace. Seen Wayne do this "Live" years ago when I took my mom to see him for her birthday... just seen Wayne last night in AC and sadly he didn't do this :/ was looking forward to hearing and seeing that again, was an amazing stage set he had, depicting Heaven, with Wayne walking down the staircase in a white tux with a red rose in lapel... While listening to this song, the tears were non-stop!! Elvis had it all...when it came to Fame and Fortune! The one thing he didn't have was TRUE LOVE IN HIS HEART - someone to love him for HIM...not for what he had or what he gave to people. The saddest tribute song I have ever heard. And if you are a TRUE Elvis Fan....this song will bring you to your knees with TEARS!!!!!!!

Elvis Presley; the most beloved singer in history, and unable to find peace in his heart. I think he was robbed in life as he has been in death. How could anyone survive the life he had to lead...? He was never given the chance to LIVE. Life just isn`t fair, and he deserved so much better than he got. Forget all the glitz and glitter; this man was a hollow shell when he finally found the peace on august 16th 1977. I just wonder when the hurtin`s gonna end...?

what a Beautiful tribute song from Wayne to his friend Elvis who we all know and love... a crumpled up note Wayne found in Elvis' hotel room, and very sad, "telling"... I love that you have posted so many great performances by Wayne. I was a Vegas lounge entertainer for many years and I would catch his show every chnce I got. I tried his spinning the microphone around by the cord a few times, but when the wire broke it went into the audience. I saw him last year in San Bernardino, CA. and felt so bad for him when those notes just wouldn't come, To me he is one the greatest entertainers ever. He still is a great entertainer... it's just the voice is gone.

The real elvis was spiritual and like to live up to Morals and principles. It bothered him when he gave in to temptations but ppl like Priscilla and the guys found this 'boring' they only like Elvis to be fun and Surrounded by Girls etc to be used as a girl magnet for the guys really The Real Elvis didnt want to be like that. Be controlled by desire. If you read the book 'The impersonal life' Elvis wanted to control his desires etc.

it's only normal to feel depressed when life lets you dwns so much. I suffer with depression. I feel maybe towards the end Elvis may have been tired of everything. But Elvis was a HAPPY person at other times. Elvis hadas many ups as he did downs. unfortunatle not many stood by him when He was down. And i mean support him in everything even if that meant Elvis was a religious man. Most of the guys didnt like Larry Geller cos of this. But forgot to realise that this was the real Elvis.

She starred in the movie Blue Hawaii with Elvis, the Blonde in the back seat - in the MIDDLE....Patsy! .I spent alot of time with her...and she is one very special woman.

WOW, this is an awesome video, and I was priveleged a few years back, of seeing Wayne for the first time in concert, took my mom, who was a big fan of him and Elvis. Wonderful tribute to Elvis! When I think about Elvis, I am extremely grateful that I am not famous. I am free to go and come as I please. I can go to the store, I can take my Daughter bowling, I can go to the Movies. Elvis did not have that luxury. I'm sure the money is nice, but as we've always heard, Money can't buy happiness. A friend of Wayne's saw a note at an auction that Elvis had written in December of 76 after his last concert at the Las Vegas Hilton. He called Newton who ended up paying thousands of dollars for it. The crumpled up note had been retrieved from Elvis' Hilton room trash can. As most everything else, Elvis' pain was later sold and thankfully it was Wayne Newton who purchased it.

I saw a tv special w/Wayne Newton, a few years back, where Newton actually read it on this tv special in it's entirety. Elvis wrote how lonely he was-very sad.
