Grey squirrels are classed as vermin in the uk and hunters/pest controllers are encouraged to lower the population. It's actually illegal to release a captured grey squirrel into the wild in the uk.

@PBAProAir Ummm, I've been hunting and using firearms since I was 8 years old. My first deer kill was with a Savage 30-30 bolt action with iron sights at 13 years old. I currently own 5 rifles, 4 with scopes, so yes I do know how to sight, and i have many many times. Scopes are cool, but you're not a marksmen until you learn to shoot with iron sights.

1200fps? i bet ur using gamo PBA raptor pellets? thats the worst pellet in airguns u should stop using PBA theyre way too light and will shoot supersonic that means shitty accuracy,use lead pellet instead round nose or diabolo pellets at 8.4 grains too light or too heavy can ruin ur spring rifle "piston slam" keep in mind that airgunning is not about speed but accuracy.....keep ur velocity under 1000fps for good accuracy

Gave up using air rifles; just too loud for where i live. I use my Savage mk. 2 heavy barrel with CCI CB Longs, quieter than my gamo's & benji 392. Also kills them quicker than the pellets. CB's are quiet as long as you use in a 20 inch or longer barrel.

CB's are conical bullet caps, the low powder content makes them go around 700 ft/sec. and are very quiet for close range pest control or plinking indoors and dont need hearing protection, although they are loud on shorter barrels. CCIs work well on rifles in particular. Remington also make CBs. Give 'em a try.
