actually, it isn't really referred to as "techpara" ....its more commonly called Trapara (trance+para)

actually Para Para originated in Europe a long time ago but Japan made it popular again.

don't confuse the music (euro beat) with the dance. the music originated as italo-disco in europe but parapara dance style is 100% japanese.

@positroniks Technically Para Para is japanese in its visible origins, though, just as with the music, the japanese were inspired by italo music videos and european pop stars, whose video formats for the time occasionally included the vocalists in a very simple stage production, occasionally doing a stationary sort of dance. This was adapted and formalized. Look up Arabesque, they have a number of videos like this from the 80s.
