In 1979,as Joel Youngblood stepped up to the plate at Three Rivers Stadium,the organist played the theme from Rollerball.After a while,I reasoned that the one of the movie themes was to get rid of the old and get some youngblood.
I certainly agree with that. Give me Jane's music prerecorded over the crap they play these days. At least her version of Meet the Mets before they take the field - please!

they should have used audio clips w/still pix and spotlights on the field where important plays happened from '69, '73, '86 and '00.
this ceremony ended with a thud, especially after the way the game ended.

I can remember Jane would play an Irish jig type of tune whenever Tug McGraw would enter the game.She was great!

I miss the view as you walk through the tunnel to the seats and that big beautiful field just opened up before your eyes.
I miss seeing the old girl as you drive in from the Grand Central Pkwy.
The end of the video brings it all back. I too just sat there and didn't want to leave, tears still in my eyes.
Love the Jane Jarvis and original version of "Meet the Mets". They need to get rid of that last version, it's as awful as this season has been. ;)
