@DJand3497 the key seems to be in Gmaj/Eminor therefore the dorian pattern would start on the A making it A dorian because the dorian mode starts on the second scale degree of the major scale, in this case G major. The second scale degree of the Gmaj scale is A, therefore it would be A dorian, not e dorian.... however you may have mixed up your scales because e is the relative minor to Gmaj, so you can use E Aoelian(aka minor scale).
