Everyone needs to see the website called "The Endowment for Human Development" and click into the Movie Theater section for a visual look at the developing human being. Just on their main page, you can see the heart pumping of a 4 week old embryo! The heart and major blood vessels begin to develop by about day 16 or 17. The heart begins to pump fluid through blood vessels by day 20.

To see how a complex human being can develop so quickly just from a single cell is fascinating and humbling!

Why are people so afraid to acknowledge an unborn child as being human? What did we do in the womb giving us the opportunity to be born? Regard to comment "use and consent"-If we abort a baby then we are USING their body without the babies consent! But since babies can't give us their consent to either live or die, what now? Simple! This is where we intelligent "human" beings (those who were allowed to be born), acknowledge their humanity and value and fight for their protection under law.

Is the unborn human a person? What do you mean by person? Dictionary defines person in a dozen ways. Yellowstone Park & General Motors are persons. U.S. Supreme Court said, legally, you're only a person after birth. Other countries rule you to be a legal person as early as conception, frequently at 3mo & most of them by 6mo. Theologians define person when the soul is created. Philosophers give is multiple meanings. In discussing abortion, I think it's best to use human life.

So, a person is not a person no matter how small. I guess we can just wipe out most of mankind since they are just "potential human beings'. Only 'us' will remain as we decide who is 'one of us' and who is 'one of them - those uncivilized, non-humans' who, while they have potential, are just not there yet. I've got brain power, shelter, and food. I guess that would make me human while those who do not have these things are only potential humans. Won't they be surprised ;)
