If you had animated Primeval before playing the catacombs you could have replayed stronghold. Like you said, Misplay. You wouldve had the mana to get prime time with geth
I actually would have just recurred Elesh Norn instead. Elesh Norn was clearly the card that kept both of their decks down since they were both tribal and relied on small creatures.
Maybe consider something like Ambition's Cost?
