  • Whoa, did I miss something here?

At 42:11, he set dA/dx = 0. How did he get that? Can someone explain? Thank you :)

  • He's a very intelligent professor.

  • @childkiller1500 No, because V in this case is not a function of x, it's a constant.

  • 33:11 it's A=3*2^(2/3)*V^(2/3)

  • sooooo what was x? lol

  • wtf.. theres Calc AB at MIT?!

  • Thanks, I also need magic numbers for MIT 18.01 Lec 17 & Lec 8

  • @bjret

Lecture 8 was the first test, there was no lecture that day. As for lecture 17, I believe it was the mid term. I hope this helps.

  • Lec 8 of MIT 18.01 is missing.

  • here you go: /watch?v=eHJuAByQf5A

  • Lec 9 of MIT 18.01 is missing

  • should be Lec 8 is missing

  • @bjret They had a test on lec 9, it says it in end of lec 8.

  • For second problem if the maximum area of the boxwith consitstent to the volume was made then how to do the problem anyone who has solution plz post it

  • When do we get to integration?

  • lecture 15 and up is on integration

  • Great lecture. I took single variable calculus twenty plus years ago and I enjoyed learning it again. I look forward to MIT uploading the rest of the lectures and then moving onto multivariable calculus!

  • wow they have really nice chalk... it doesn't squeak no mater how hard or fast he writes. The lecture is good too.

  • Wa... Wa... Wa... Are these students really MIT's students? Wa.... I am flabbergasted by their questions. How many of them have full SAT scores? :0

  • This IS the most basic calculus math class. That means that most, if not all, of them, are not good at math.

  • @chenhsi4

So what? Who cares how good they are at math? Everyone starts somewhere.

  • @chenhsi4 Meh perhaps most of them are first years, and this class lasts only one semester anyway, there to make sure everyone has the basics down.

Eitherway, why the hell do you care, and if this stuff is below you, why are you watching it?

  • sigh! ... i wish they could upload the remaining lectures ... i wish!!

  • Thanks MIT! You are giving chances for those who can't afford to go to expensive schools!

    -Rommel from the Philippines

  • True ... the next generation will be much more intelligent than us ... because eventually every major university will be doing OCW ... and students will get to listent to so many different professors on the same subject

  • I beg you MIT, please upload the rest of the Calculus lectures. One of the most fundemental classes for math and science and they have only about a third of it up. ;-()

  • I would like to see the rest of these lecture

  • Yes, please upload the rest of this. Seen the first 12 lectures and they are really great. Want to see the rest since I missed most of my own single variable calculus lectures, and I want to really master the basics.

And how great it feels to learn college level stuff from another side of earth. Really love this. This is the future. Education for anyone who wants it.

    Go MIT! from Sweden.

  • please uplode more thank you

  • please upload the rest of the semester

  • Maybe I' m missing it, but I see single and multi variable calculus. What about integration single variable calculus? The whole subject is missing. It seems that this play list is incomplete.
