  • Are you killing birds for fun?

  • I cant see why anyone would spend that kind of money, just take a 400$ pcp and replace the hammer with a electric solenoid, and another to cock the loading mechanism, would cost you max 50$ and could be done in a day.

  • Very very nice rifle I'm in a jam it's either going to be the evolution monsoon or a daystate please can some one give me there thought thank you happy holiday .

  • Great presentation!! Would like to see some vids of 2 starlings downed with one pellet...would probably take a bit of patience for the setup...

  • Be aware that the pin (vertical) connecting the bolt and the thing that the air moves back will break due to wear. I happened to someone i know and it took him a while to get it all out because it got stuck.

You'd better replace it once in a while before it breaks on you and the whole lot gets stuck. Doesn't get stuck always but its still a hassle when it's break.

    Otherwise nice review!

  • 6:54 HOUSE INTRUDER!

  • @malinko35 It came with the wife, and it never skips a meal. :)

  • what is the name of your hunting channel ?

  • @bomanio1 Username "EdgunUSA".

  • Fantastic job Ted I am really looking forward to part 2 and the hunting vids on your other channel. Bloody good job! Did I say that already LOL

    Country Pursuits TV

  • ya this weather in az sucks right now, i might be going out hunting soon (not with my air gun though, i dont trust it over 25yds with the BB's i have in it. i need to get pellets soon) but if i go out with any of my scoped rifles i will post it up on here, and would like your input. i wish i had an airgun capable of your shots. i have a remington air master 77 and well ya. i think you know how that would go with only the stock scope

  • Just to chime in here fellas.....I believe the Revo's are still being made with Lothar Walther choked barrels.

Can't wait to see the shooting review on this AG.

  • Thanks again Ted for your imput. You are correct! i was told by the gun smith to take one of the O-Rings off of the probe and use it for the breach seal which turned out to be non-existent. No cigar... the gun smith now has the Revolution.

  • Hey Ted, Can you double check the barrel to see if it is a smoothtwist. I just received mine today and i believe it's a lothar walther barrel. I saw the many lands that ran down through the whole barrel.

  • @jcairgun Yeah, I'll have a look at it tonight. If it turns out to be an LW barrel, I'll add annotation to the vid.

  • @AirgunReview hey ted did you hit the crony?

  • Thank you for your imput Ted... looks like this Revolution is DOA- that happens once in a rare time... Dirt E. Harry

  • @1dirteharry Do I understand that you currently have a Revo that is not firing/cycling, Harry? If so, check to make sure the chamber o-ring is there. If it's missing, the gun will not cycle, no matter how much finagling you do with the adjusters. ted.

  • id love to see this gun take out a few starlings

  • Hi Ted! Thanks for the quick response.

Ted, my interest is the rifle Evanix Vindy City for hunting is reliable, durable, accurate? It is better to pay + U $ 800.00 By FX Royale? Thank you, I would have the opportunity to compete with you, and see who shoot better. rsrsrsrsr. Forgive my English using Google Translator

  • @MsOinkoink The Windy City has received good reviews. Jim Chapman reviewed one a while back, and his results showed great accuracy. Google "American Airgun Hunter Windy City" to find the review. ted.

  • Looks like a beautiful rifle. My only problem is having to adjust the gas system for different pellets. I think it may make sense to have a bolt action option.

  • @SilentSalvation1995 If you try a different pellet, and it does not have enough air to cycle the gun, you can cycle it yourself, like a bolt system. If you have too much air, that is not a problem for cycling the rifle, but the extra force will be harder on the hammer. So, it is best to strike a balance. It does require a little work on your part. But, the alternative (no adjustments) would be a far worse design.

  • @AirgunReview Alright. That makes much more sense. Thanks for the quick reply.

  • By God my friend, Create a Review Evanix Windy City, I am Brazilian and I want to purchase this rifle. Thank you, Ricardo Milano.

  • @MsOinkoink I would like that very much, Ricardo. But, AoA does not carry the Evanix Line. Another company would need to send me a rifle for review. :) ted.

  • Hi Ed

    Yet another excellent review.

I think the smooth twist barrel was 'invented' by Ben Taylor here in England.

I doubt that we English will be allowed to have a semi auto air rifle but semi auto air pistols are allowed.

    Keep up the good work

    Graham

  • @233NATOMAN Yup - as I understand, Ben Taylor was the lead designer on the FX Royale. I think AoA still sells "Ben Taylor Rapids". They get the full treatment from the man, himself. I think they cost nearly 3K US.

  • This semi auto mechanism works just like the ones found in AK-47's which is gas operated. expect this one is upside down! Great review!

  • @FT86TT Interesting - I did not know this.

  • You talk about adjusting the reloading pressure on the front of the gun at 3:21 then again at 3:38 to the reloading spring tension on the back of the gun. I see that you are using 18.3 JSB exacts starting out. Lets say for example that you change up to 21 grain H&N Barracuda Match ... which one of the allen screws do you adjust?- front, back or both? Then, lets say that you move down to a 17 grain Beeman Silver Arrow or even a 14.3 JSB... would you make adjustments for each pellet weight?

  • @1dirteharry The front adjuster controls the amount of "waste" air from the muzzle to the cycling mechanism. The spring on the back controls how "forceful" to pelllet probe pushes a pellet from the mag. So, the two elements are independent. The truth is that I switched from the 18.1 JSB's to the 21.1 Barracudas without needing any adjustments - the pellets are similar enough. But, switching to a13gr pellet would likely require an increase of air flow and decrease of spring tension.

  • @1dirteharry I have added FX's instructions re: these elements to the video description. Hopefully that will shed some light on your questions. ted.

  • Nice review Ted, Thanks for help with my edgun questions...I want something that reliable under 1200 dollars but cant find anything to suit my tastes. I think the revolution is a neat gun but waaay to much going on for the field.

  • @xThankless Reliable and under 1200? The truth is that with the exception of the AA510 and BSA R10, not many rifles hover in the $1000 range. Seems like the major price categories are $500, $800, $1500, and $2200. At least it seems that way to me.

  • @AirgunReview I know Ted and its frustrating for me. I want something in between the mord and royale basically. I like tactical not wood and will need 30 shots at around 30 fpe or more if it would come in 25 the problem is there is nooooo gun that suits me right now and may go back to pbs...

  • @xThankless The FX Whisper T-12 is the only gun that I can think of that would fit your needs, style, and price point. The good news about that gun is that the synthetic version is $200 less than the walnut. And, all FX guns are packaged with the same smooth-twist barrel. The barrel that is in the Royale is the same in the Whisper. This doesn't mean the Whisper will have the same accuracy as the Royale, but at least you know you aren't getting factory 2nds with the less-expensive models.

  • @EdgunUSA Thanks Ted seen both guns...the t10 is too heavy for me and Id like to get at least 30 fpe as I will be using this for some large coons 10+lbs. I know varmit air loves his but gets around 23 fpe I think.

  • @xThankless Check out the BSA Scorpion T10 Tactical, as well. $700 ted.

  • Anyone else so the cat appear 6:52? Oh nice vid I mean

  • @IrChupaMiPito That stupid cat sleeps all day - until I get out the camera. Then she always makes an appearance. The cat came with the wife. ;)

  • thats simular to the way a semiauto rifle[non-airgun] works,

    very cool!

  • Great job Ted..Looks like another great rifle..Very much looking forward on the range and hunting vids!!...Have fun

  • Best review of this rifle i have ever seen, excellent.

I am going green with envey.

PS: I live in the UK we cannot have any semi automatic rifles, eccept for a .22lr which i would need a FAC for.

  • skipped porn for this...

    same effect...

  • @avsb83 LOL!!!

  • Exceptional video review (as usual), I was surpised that the operating system didn't use "extra" air. I have the FX Monsoon and get 36 regulated shots per fill and always wondered if it used extra air, I'm pretty sure your review indicates that it doesn't.

    Thanks,

    JFK

  • YOU beatiful gun...

  • best airgun vids on youtube!

  • GREAT VIDEO.........

  • Hey Ted another GREAT video always look foward to see your next video (on both channels) Australia is ran by greenies (tree huggers) so we dont get the good guns anymore but i have found a fx dealer and i'm keen on the 400 royal but i will wait to see how the Revolution turns out so could you please put the Royal beside the Revolution to get a look at the difference in size Keep up the Great Work. Cheers Wayne

  • do u have any sponsors ,get me back on my channel

  • GREAT VIDEO....AND THAT GUN LOOKS NICE.....

  • Ted, awesome once again!!!!

  • another excellent presentation, Ted. I look forward to Part2. I guess it's best to find a suitable pellet and love it to death so far as this rifle is concerned, what with it's required tweaks per pellet change. I know. Lazy talk. With the semi-auto mechanism, I'd be interested in your view on the durability factor. Glad you get to keep it for a while. The more you complicate the plumbing, the easier it seems to gum up the works. But that remains to be seen

    darryl

  • Hey Ted!!! As usual AMAZING job dude, keep m up pal!!! Thumbs up for sure!!!

  • superb review ted ...great little gun by the looks, i doubt we will get a 12ftlbs version over here but will wait in anticipation for the next vid...

  • She's pretty,I saw a few years ago this semi auto babe from rollingblockcall50 ''fx revolution funshoot''/that video is still over here and I loved.I'm curious how accuracy this semi auto revolution will be? I'll be wait for another parts.. Great video you done! keep doing! Regards!

  • Quick question Ted...I decided to try JSB heavies in my. 177 tx200.. and at 10 yards I have a 1 mil-dot drop at point of impact compared to my crossman premieres..obviously because they're heavier but also the pellets fit loosely in chamber..was just wondering if that's normal at only 10 yards. Using a Leapers 3x9x40.. superb video as always. Stay cool!

  • Amazing spread on that chronograph test! If I had such luck with my air rifle, i wouldn't trade it for the world!

  • Another well made video Thanks for your efforts.
