Sierra probably gave more value for money with this title than any other. In the box there were TWO copies of the game so you and a friend can play over multiplayer. I know because that's how I got my copy. Freebie from a friend.

Man, Giants couldn't just whoop on dudes like this. Malignus could (maybe) take down Giants, unless they were suped the hell up with the upper-rank upgrades. Love this intro and this game though!!!!! Those little dudes as you got farther used to whoop my ass! Not Parasites, but the little dudes that are just like 2 legs, had the ELF Whips and would just detonate by your dudes, used to f' me up all the time lmao!! Great game!!!

It actually an Ogre. and Yes your right. two 30mm chain gun shots is not going to kill a malignus. and the little guys (called verminus) really did mess with me, too. until i took a fast shadow and put a detonator on it and showed them how it made me feel. heh heh heh. bye bye little guy.

Verminuses are made in manufacturing nodes. The best way to get rid of them is to destroy the nodes. This was the first game I've ever played on my own PC in middle '90's and I still have it.

thank you so much for posting this... i have been scouring the internet for about a week without results. Then i saw that intro and a smile crossed my face..... this game was awesome.... maybe the best mech game ever... i liked the turn based and build your own squad aspects..... thanks again

If you liked this game there is a RTS that is REALLY similar. It is called MechCommander and it is one of my fav games ever!

i have played mech commander but it was more rts than i usually go for .... i like the turn based..... its was fun to smoke and get nice and wasted and just go over the mech customizing my squad

Its only similar on the surface. In reality MechCommander is just another RTS, nothing special, just select all your units and point at the enemy.

It REALLY stinks though. Your Units move even if you dont tell them to. If you do tell them to move, they move somewhere else.

You could play Cyberstorm 2 in turn based mode. It was still REALLY hard but the units moving all over the place was not an issue.

I tried that but while the hercs do go where I tell them, They take their own paths(sometimes getting them killed) instead of the path of green hexes.
