The footage is taken from Life on Earth which was first shown in 1979 but the footage was probably taken a year or two before that. Sir David Attenborough an amazingly modest man who has brought us magic moments like these.

i read in 'radio times' today that one of the gorillas was actually a man in a gorilla suit. they needed him to balance the shot or something. this is not true is it - wtf ???? no sign of it here anyway. DA wouldnt allow that would he. i'll have to read it again to see if they were joking but i dont think they were.
