  • This by John is fabulous, The other great version of this xmas masterpiece & in my opinion, sorry about this but even better is by the magic Jussi Bjorling. How I managed to even pick a favourite,I wonder ,tomorrow I will probably choose Johns recording. Both pure MAGIC.

  • @Teddyb1939 Thanks for your kind words. I'm a big fan of Bjorling too. Two MASTERS!

  • @Teddyb1939 Have you got a copy of jussi singing The Adeste, I would be really interested to hear it.

  • @kamikazekate The Jussi Bjorling magic version of this lovely work that is my favourite is one I uploaded from youtube, the site name is Inca48, You are in for a treat, this is one of my favs of any genre, If you just type the masters name & the title, you should see it. enjoy Teddy.

  • @Teddyb1939 no inca48 does not have it. Im a huge fan of Jussi and have never heard him sing this. If you know of anywhere else i can hear it will you let me know? It definitely is not available on youtube, itunes or any of the opera sites i am a member of. Thanks teddy

  • @kamikazekate I have looked through my collection & cannot find the Jussi recording, I am sorry to say that I may have got my Adeste mixed up with O Holy Night, Really sorry to disappoint you. Jussi is a great voice!! . This youtube is a bonus in life isn't it.

  • Oh my goodnees, that was fantastic. thank you.

  • what a great tenor john was

  • John McCormack's 1926 rendition of "Adester Fidelis" is, quite simply, the greatest recording of a Christmas carol I know. Note his pure tone, his command of the Latin, and, above all, the piety. He is one of the few who sounds like he means it.

  • awesome. I am dating myelf on this But I attended one of his concerts in New York. prior to WW2. I also remember him being a friend of Will Rogers.
