  • so serene and beautiful. I love it.

  • This was played in my house before they removed my daughter for her funeral. It is probably the most exquisite piece of music I know of, along with lacrymosa from mozarts requiem. It is beautiful

  • this is incredible such an amazing piece even at the tender age of 18!

  • @45pudding

    ?

I'm pretty sure this dates from 1594, which would make Purcell about thirty-five when he wrote it. But he did write very good pieces aged 18, too!

  • Beatifully performed. Who is it?

  • Thou knowest, Lord, the secrets of our hearts. . Shut not thy merciful ears unto our prayers; . But spare us, Lord most holy. . O God most mighty . O holy and most merciful Father . Thou most worthy Judge eternal . Suffer us not at our last hour . For any pains of death to fall from Thee. . Amen.
  • Wow. this brings back memories of my youth, I used to sing this in boychoir.

  • @Sesquiltera - you missed the "a" out of your name
