That scrolling bg in the last level was cool. Use that with a moving plane level (where the camera keeps moving forward) and you will have completed the mind-fuck scale!

Depends on how much prior experience you have. Graphics-wise, the easiest way to rip stuff is by using a program called YY-CHR. You can open ZSNES's ZST files with those and extract the graphics from them (although, it'll only have the graphics for the area you made the save state in.)
If you're asking how I remade the SMB level; I loaded a SMB ROM using YY-CHR and ripped the graphics from it and put it into an ExGFX file so it could be inserted into this hack (the tile graphics are uncompressed in SMB ROM.) Although I had to use the dropper tool in Paint Shop Pro to get the colors just right once I got them into SMW. It took longer than I had expected, but the results were well worth it. :)
For the third level, is the ground from Evel kinevel?
