Ok man fanx guys for the comments but yes i gotta be honest im more of a dancehall fan got into sum old 45s cuz of older people in the carib high church i grew up in but yeh got into rocksteady by accident and am always findin new tracks x I have searched afew of the riddimguide sites with nowt down x but his other track tougher than tough/rudie dont fear is similar x and even barrister pardon from his rival PB got a similar sound and i love dont play that song from derrick morgan probs my fav x
love this just takes me back to the clubs we used to go to flamingo in Wardour street , Clubs on the coast like the shoreline so many bloody good times bloody good music Bloody good dubbies.
He played the 100 Club in 2008 and sounded better than ever. If you want more of this music check out 'The Best of Derrick Morgan' album, my copy is over 35 years old so good luck finding it!
@samuelsonable oh dude! you probably know this by know if you really wanted the answer, but regardless the tag you want is 'rocksteady'. investigate this genre and be rewarded! more generally check out jamaican music from the early 1960s and you wont be disappointed!!
@samuelsonable Most Rocksteady songs have the same riddim '67 -'68. If your having trouble distinguishing Ska from Rocksteady or Rocksteady from Early Reggae, the heavy piano is the dead giveaway, a little less bluesy and lot more Soul. SOUL POWER LICK IT BACK TO THE MAXIMUM! Hop it from the top to the very last drop! In '68 I'm great but in '69 I'm felling fine! They said you cant get away from the pot, it's hot!
