i was so excited, i got one for chrstmas (opened presents on christmas eve) and i was playing with it all night and all christmas morning, then by accident i splitted it but it got messed up cus i wasnt expecting it, but i didnt feel like trying it again.. then 30 min later i accidently dropped them and when i picked them back up i noticed 5 were missing. i found two pairs of them, but i never found it.so now i cant make the cube and ill never be able to try it, or make any cool shape, again :(

I'm not sure what the ones I have are, I know they aren't nanodots, neocube or buckyballs, but either way, mine just won't split, the force I have to apply disintegrates the cube, even if I use a ruler or something. I think mine don't have enough friction between each other to assist them in holding their shape. Still, it's fun trying ^^

The issue is that people are trying to split it perpendicular to the diaxial magnetization. That's extremely difficult. The way to do it is to split it perpendicular to the axis of magnetization.

Yeah, exactly. The problem with those magnetic spheres is that they look so symmetrical. Thus all faces of the cube made look the same. But they aren't. It would help immensely if those spheres had two colours indicating the position of their magnetic poles.

You're doing it the wrong way. Think about the magnets themselves and the direction in which they're magnetized. This guy is pulling it apart perpendicular to the magnetic axis. That's why it's easy. You're trying to pull the magnetic bonds apart in the direction where they're the strongest.
