  • its funny if you go to the first few comments in this video everyone is saying how promising he looks and how excited they are for him to be a longhorn. now the recent comments are bashing him for not getting the job done. JESUS CHRIST HE IS ONLY A FRESHMAN IN COLLEGE, GIVE HIM A DAMN BREAK. give him time to develop and stop being so hard on him. colt mccoy was not a stud that young either

  • It isn't asking too much. It's Texas. We expect more, and all I'm saying is improve or move on. He has to prove it to everyone to keep his spot. What are you, his mother?

  • It's not asking a lot if you play at Texas. What are you, his mom?

  • Well....we've now seen that this kid can't hit the broad side of a barn in college. Not saying it's over, I think Texas and their coaching staff will give him more opportunities to throw a few more picks before the fat lady sings. All I can say is prove me wrong kid.

  • @sambo179 David Ash doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. He is a young man who

will find his way, but to expect a true Freshman to be spot on throwing the ball without being somewhat rattled is asking alot.

  • @1977seabiscuit He is young. However, when committing to a Division I University a lot is expected. Take Gilbert for example. Throw into the BCS his freshman year.

  • @TheLira70 That proves my point. Gilbert wanted to be a Div I quarterback but he still needed time to develop. He tried to please everyone and couldn't. He didn't develop right and look where he is now. David Ash needs time to learn the system with the right pieces in place to develop properly. To expect him to be Matt Barkley in his first year is asking for a miracle. You are a fool if you expect him to prove something to you or others his first go around. Give him time.

  • @1977seabiscuit Yea. I thought Gilbert was a great QB. More than 75% of his INT's came from missed blocks on the line. Ash played just as bad.

  • @TheLira70 I am not making excuses for Ash. I just think we need to give him time. I know that we want a ready made QB at UT but that doesn't happen every year, nor does it happen all the time everywhere else. Let him get the spring and summer workouts under his belt and lead this team next year. I think then we can draw healthy conclusions; Please don't draw conclusions on a Freshman who wanted to RS in the first place. Time and patience people.

  • Came back to watch his HS highlights to see how much his play has changed. You definitely can't throw these passes that seem to hang in the air forever in college. But he's got moxie. He can rally a team to a win. I know we'll see him do that at Texas before all is said and done.

  • Go ash go!! We need you!!

  • This kid looks amazing...he has quick feet and a quick release...hopefully the politics of UT football won't hender him from taking "What's eating Gilbert Grape's" position

  • @MrGengen18 I'm pretty sure it is goin to be gilbert but if not him case mcCoy the qb competition is stiff right now

  • whos our starting qb..

  • Texas doubters or haters get ready! Yall had your time OUR TIME IS NOW! HOOK EM HORNS

  • @YoungGunStardom Yeeeaahhh Booiii !!!!

  • @bevodrummer

he's also playing against high school kids...

  • Hook 'EM!! we will surprise alot of doubters this year, watch what i tell ya. the first sign of this will be the blow out of Rice, which did not occur last year. prediction Texas 45-13

  • I go to school in belton and believe me when he played temple he demolished them 45-19 and threw at least 4 tds his leadership is great

  • See ya Gilbert. I was the biggest gg fan... But after constant ints and lack of leadership on and of the field... I saw and heard the buzz on Ash and now going to jump ship to this rising star. Other than his TERRIFIC poise in the pocket, he makes very accurate throws and demonstrates great arm strength. The best part is the coaches and players are always saying he demonstrates the best leadership in huddle and on the field. HE WILL START THIS SEASON. Mark my words. This guy is perfect for hars

  • I don't hate Gilbert, but man Ash looks GOOD. Poise, beautiful mechanics, pocket presence, finds the open receiver, has touch. All the things that Garrett struggles with. I'll support whomever starts but damn, Ash is promising.

  • @ajaxsf

Somebody groomed the crap outta him. Mechanics are perfect. Very accurate even on the run. If he can lead at all, he should start soon.

  • at 1:19 is that a mascott or a massive human being walking across the top left of the screen?????

  • looks impressive....however i think his future as a longhorn isnt looking too good if connor brewer stays with the longhorns.......connor just seems better.....arm strength run speed and hits receivers in stride......lets go longhorns!

  • that boy got a arm

  • lol his o line is terrible when he hits the college level and gets some more time hes gonna be amazing

  • Honestly, reminds me of Bradford
