I'm allergic to cats and I found out that these kind of cats can be hypoallergenic. doctors say you can never be 100% sure that they won't affect you. i read that in order to find out if the kitten you're getting is going to be hypoallergenic, you need to spend some time with the mother cat.anybody have any info?
@belladonna1999 Actually i place many in allergy homes. It depends on the lines but each is different. Occasionally someone with severe allergies still reacts but not always. We do fur samples and tests in person too.
@belladonna1999 The mom is a good way to test if it can be done before she's pregnant. T the hormones from cycling, pregnancy and lactation can make the allergen levels higher (the protein most people are allergic to is Fel D1). A good way to start is via fur sample tests then proceed onto testing in person if your allergies are severe. We do this outside out home so it's not overwhelming and so we know who you are reacting to as well. We successfully place cats in allergy homes often.
@snowtiger184 yes these were from a litter I had in 2009. Registered with CFA and TICA. I have two lovely litters right now. Photos at Pendraig dot com. Thanks!
@snowtiger184 Yes, purebred and pedigreed. This video is from a litter in 2009 though. Right now i have two available kittens from a litter born in Sept but that's an unusual case. Most often they are sold via a waiting list in advance.
