@yesdanman I actually love 'old school' Aretha. In this performance she's using a hooty head voice sound that doesn't require skill. Furthermore, she's practically passing out on stage because she can barely hold her notes. I apologise, but I cannot give one of the worlds ex-best singers credit, when she sounds like one the worst.

If this was anyone else singing this, you'd be hating on her... just because it's Aretha Franklin, you 'dig it'. Tell me, what is so amazing about her?

@werdnanotroh I think her head voice sounds great, especially for 6 in the morning. Your a singer, think about it. Isn't it miserable performing in the morning hours when you just wake up? Secondly, no one can form and execute those vocal runs like her on the fly. You also seem to be overlooking the feeling and inflection she's putting into this, especially in the low registers. Again, these are my opinions. I don't think this particular performance deserves to be trashed.
