I don't if paying dutch applies to the tutor-tutee relationship. I mean I'm a couple years older and we were just hungry after a lesson, but I wasn't planning on covering the entire meal. Luckily for her I only asked her to pay two-fifths of the bill.

i prefer paying my own meal myself. don't like owing people favours and feel it unnecessary for guys to pay, but the thought is much appreciated. ^^

I can't even get a Korean man to not pay for my meals on date without pissing him off. lol. I volunteered, insisted and it never work without making the guy feel lousy. So i guess same for the woman :P

I try to think, if i am paying for the dinner today... what would I want to eat.

ANd about choosing the restaurant...

I leave it to the guy.. and insist, I dont want anything too fancy.

Well... when I go out for a date..

IF I didnt want to lead the guy on, as In I would be open to look for more than friends relationship... I make the first move and insist we pay dutch, when the bill comes. They have said no a few times, and wouldnt let go.

So .. I simply take them out the second time around and tell them its my treat.

IF i liked the guy, and we are going out for the first time to dinner ever...

Then.. i would inflate his ego.. and let him pay for it.. if he asked me out.

First of all have problems with Australian meat? If you invite a person out you pay that is the polite thing to do, if she is your friend you can dutch, but when I was younger and a male friend or female invited we would dutch but if a man invite because he was interested let him pay!!!! and vice versa.

you make a girl pay dutch in the states? i'm not really a high maintain girl, but i like it when the man pays. i know this question wasn't directed at me because i'm american, and i grew up here (socal), but i'm going to say what i think anyway. i think that if you go out with a guy, and he pays then he is taking you out on a date. if you go out with a guy, and she pays, she is taking him out on a date. if each pays for themselves, then it is two friends hanging out. : )
