When I was first laid off, my co hooked me up with a NICE severence package, (which included ins, and funds that could carry me for 3-4 months, or 6-7 months if I was REAL frugal) I could also get unemployment during that time which I could stash. I also worked alot on Second Life and selling houses, avatars, clothing, but I could only cash out $67 a week.
