I'm going to have to find a G8 on the market, to bad that Pontiac has faded away but that wide track Grand Prix holds the corners on the twisty mountain roads with no problems and the ride is great. If I get her the G8 she is going to smoke my 315 HP V6 2011 Camaro. Very nice car and the color was nice as well.
I keep telling the old lady we need to get rid of her car and get HER (haha right) a G8 Lingenfelter for economy and safety. So far no-go. Gorgeous car.

I have watched your video half a dozen times. Excellent build and excellent video documentary. Probably the best "build video" I've watched on Youtube. I've been dreaming about owning a G8 GT since they first came out. I've read all the posts, and I have one question for you. Early prototypes of G8 GT aftermarket exhausts had an annoying "droning" problem when the V8 switched to 4-cylinder mode on the highway. Have you noticed anything like that with your exhaust?
@kentpublic Thanks man! As far as the exhaust drone, I've never noticed it. The interior volume is very tolerable at cruising speeds, both in the front and in the back. I think you would be pleased with the Magnaflow tone :)

I got a 00 gtp, out of curiosity how much did the under drive pulley help? I got the water undrive pulley from zzp i didnt really notice a difference other then 5-10* more temperature in the engine idk.
@rekjavicxxx That is a shit load of whp & tq for a car i consider "lightly" modified. Did you install the headers yourself? I got the pacesetter kit for the GTP it was a huge bitch ran into gay problems.. I love g8 gt's and gxps I will probable end up getting one when they are a little cheaper then 15 grand and my credit goes up a bit. What do you run in the QTR?
@rekjavicxxx These cars I think are lighter then the 2010 camaros and I'm pretty sure thats right @ a stock camaros output. PLUS I love the pontiac 8 cylinder.. fuel saving 4 cylinder mode on the highway.

Hey man I got handed down my dad's old 97 Grand Prix GT and I love this car. I've been looking to get a new CAI for it, but I can't find anything through the big retailers (K&N, etc.) and I was wondering if you could help me find something.

Fortunately we found this one with 9k miles and perfectly taken care of. According to the previous owner, it was the 4th last G8 GT sold new in the US.
Say Chris, have you seen any full ram fuction ram air hood for the G8 yet? I've had mine for 5 months and only have a K&N air filter. Looking to the body mod's first then place cash under the hood when I get closer to 3/36 and let GM fix any and all issue no questions asked. I know this is a Holden build so I was wondering if the market for tune up's will better over seas? Would like to see your g8 vs some other basic mods?! Stay fast Bro
@Jjackson339 The only design that I've seen is an OTR (over the radiator) CAI, but, while it looked cooler, it was actually a design that would inherently pull hotter air, instead of the RotoFab design that pulls cooler air from the low fender. You may be on the right track by pursuing a design from overseas manufacturers.
If I run across something, I'll hit ya back! And I think you're on the right track, let that warranty work for ya, then drop a cam in that baby ;)

As far as the PCM, you should be just fine as long as you flash it back to stock. It's also good to try and establish a rapport with your local service department. Be honest and ask if it'll adversely effect your warranty coverage by adjusting the tune...
@rekjavicxxx 1997 ss Camaro weight minus 200 lbs with stock gears running a HD Cenerrforce, New Eaton TruTrak Posi, hotcam, O2 simulators, big Maf, No headers, Slp Dual Exhaust,on New Continental DW tires is running 12.4. I'd say it's putting out about 350 whp with the bypassed coolant throttle body, TB air foil, and a few others i can't recall. Poly Suspension. When it was Vortech Supercharged it was running 11.6 - 11.8. So your doing pretty good. Plus i had about 170 lbs in stereo equipment.
I have one in the same color. Stock for now but the car is still incredibly fast. Gas mileage is great too. Today I averaged 25.8 mpg @ an average speed of 72 mph. That's incredible for a 6 liter V8 and I was also running the AC. This was during my drive from Raleigh, NC to ATL, GA.
@deezomaxima Yezzir!!! That's the exact reason we went with the GT over the GXP....the MPG, plus with these mods, it's putting more HP to the ground than a stock GXP. I did two MPG cruises to test: sustained 80MPH - 24.1MPG; 60MPH - 30.0MPG! Incredible for a 6.0L just like you said! Best car EVER! :D
@MrDickFagler Umm....not really into the TB spacer thing. And that Borla exhaust is tuned for the G8 and produces the highest rated gain for this application...

@YenkoCamaro427 Numbers in the vid. No "before" TQ numbers because the TQ sensor was messed up on the dyno that day. Replaced it in time for the "after" pull...
You could go that one step further and add performance parts from its Australian cousin; the HSV Club Sport R8. Sharper brakes, suspension, upgraded interior and a body kit that makes a G8 look subtle lol

You could go that one step further and add performance parts from its Australian cousin; the HSV Club Sport R8. Sharper brakes, suspension, upgraded interior and a body kit that makes a G8 look subtle lol
