@ktlocke Elvis started dating Dixie right out of high school while he was still driving a truck for Crown electric before he even started with Sun records. She says they almost ran off & got married a couple of times, but Elvis walked into Sun to record this song "My Happiness" for his mother--the rest is history. Elvis seeing other girls on those early Sun tours eventually caused their break up. There is a video called "Elvis's First Date with Dixie Locke" where she is talking.
I am pretty sure no one will believe this, but the lady in the last picture of this video is my aunt.That is their prom picture. Her name is Dixie Locke. I also have the picture that is in the video.
Elvis had a twin brother who didn't survive birth. They don't know at Graceland if the twin was identical or not. Can you imagine that arguably, the coolest man on earth ever might have had an Identical Twin...!!!
