No they are not comfortable! They put your spine under immense pressure in order to eject you at such high velocity to get you way from the plane. Better to be just damaged than dead.
Many pilots have suffered serious injuries from ejector seats.

Its amazing what Flight Simulator has done to educate the public
I don´t know so much about modern jets, but can´t these machines fly without one of their engines despite all the huge power at their disposal and been using so much technology? There had to be some another problem apart from the engine; otherwise I can´t understand it.
Yes, I did see that huge flame pretty clear. What I was trying to say is that if ONLY was THAT engine which was on fire, maybe the plane could try and keep flying. In fact, I know of a pilot who had to take off from a carrier with one of the engines of his Hornet burning. He managed to land on the nearest base with one engine, and when he got off the plane he saw that the other engine was completely destroyed because it swallowed the fuel tank cap...
The problem with spinal injuries has nothing to do with forward speed, it's the compression damage caused by the vertical acceleration of the seat, something that is constant. The injuries most commonly involving high forward speed are "flailing" where the pilots arms and legs are dislocated in the jetstream.

i wouldve done the same thing, the trailing flames indicates a possible secondary explosion that could rip the entire aircraft and then it'd be too late. Steering the aircraft away and ejecting is best option. Landing is impractical.

I wasn't. The topic on English came up in a post by fr33dom34 when he claimed, "my english is better than yours even if its not my first language, kid;)".
I have not even said anything to or about the pilot in the first place.
I am Topi, the pilot, who had this accident.I read in this topic discussions.I decided to write here some sentences. If you have a problem with your aircraft it is not a hero act, that is compulsory for all pilots.I expect an explosion of my aircraft.I know I had to turn away to make clear and check what had happened.
I thought it was a simple engine failure. If one engine stops with other engine in normal situation you can land.I didnt release the nose gear,it hadnt make sense. When I turned left, north from the airfield,I relaised I can not land, because there was the possibility of explosion of the aircraft.Shortly before ejecting
I checked again: right engine was blokked, left engine was also in fire (from mirror and from the ground)and in emergency mod, lamps and warning systems were demaged, they show nothing. For the MiG-29B (912) if you release gears in that case the flaps and airbrakes doesn't go out automatic, moreover you can not use the airbrakes. Thanks for all and all the best.Bye
The MIKOYAN-GUREVICH MIG 29 has a built-in ILS (instrument landing system) wich provides pilot support when landing. basicaly, when the landing gear is down, the system automaticaly engage the airbrakes and lowers the flaps to make the craft easier to control at low speeds. I don't know if that is the reason why the pilot lowered the gear, but i guess it made perfect sence to him.
? Saying that he let out of the front landing gear before ejecting is so stupid.. why in the hell would have he done a thing like that.. and why would somebody have the possibility to let out of the front landing gear lol, thats so stupid.. the aircraft went down because he fucking ejected and was not holding the fucking yoke anymore, lol.. please dont post bullshit.. thanks
Letting out the front landing gear WOULD make the plane tail heavy, you're right on that. But the thing is, if the plane is tail heavy, the nose will RISE, not drop.
well that is what I am explaining to you ! idiot, I used reverse psychology to make you say it yourself.. now that you said it yourself, no need to argue more.. the nose would RISE, not DROP.. idiot ! so he did not do that.. end of discussion
listen, kid, letting out the nose landing gear would make the plane go hi, and not go down. now if there is something you dont understand in that, just learn aviation, but get the fuck lost, LOL.. let your moms computer alone, you obviously make no sense.. period.. lol
I understand what's going on. I know aviation more than you know your own parents. I understand that dropping the nosegear makes the plane tail heavy, and will cause it to pitch up. What isn't being understood here is that in your post 6 down from this one I'm wasting my time responding to, you claim that dropping the nosegear would make the plane pitch down, which is not true.
The computer isn't my moms, and taking cheap shots at me isn't the way to win an argument you know you already lost. I don't see why you keep telling me I'm right after I corrected you in your other post here. I make complete sense, but the thing is your logic makes as much sense as your "sentences" in your posts.
And for another thing, don't tell me to get the fuck lost. I do whatever the fuck I want, boy, and you're not about to change it in the least bit. If you think making stupid, senseless responses to my posts on a website bothers me, or makes me question my logic, you're dead wrong.
As for people reading this, if you look at this "idiot"'s post 9 down from this one, you can see he claims the nose would drop, which it wouldn't, then later claims he was using "reverse psychology", which I doubt he even knows the meaning of, then continues to make overly aggressive posts in an argument with himself, telling me I was right in my post 8 down from this one.
Back to school, youngin'. You have a lot of learning to do yet. Good try though, what are you, 7th grade?
looking at all the words you wrote, lets assume you are so frustrated to have lost this argument that now you are working fucking hard to try to get it back.. too late kid.. ;)
Why is it that if I write a lengthy paper I have to be frustrated with the argument? Those are independent characteristics, and just because I wrote a long paper doesn't mean I'm frustrated.
Why is it that if I write a lengthy paper I have to be frustrated with the argument? -----------> LOL :) it shows us that education is not your strenght here ;)
Where was the mention of English? Once again, you have skipped through my message, only to believe you were right in the first place, propmting you to make another senseless message. Your English sucks, and don't call me "kid", because you're probably the one still in Jr. High.
My English is better than your first language, which is probably "idiot".
Hi!I am so sorry for my english, but you know I wanted to make clear this this discussion only. You are perfectly right about my english. Most of cases I use speaking instead of writing.Sincerelly: - Topi -
oh and yes, kid, you get the fuck lost.. its just that you dont even realise it.. read Fromm.. go to school a bit and youll realise that, as all those things that are around you but you dont realise it ;)
Nah, I understand my rights, boy. What exactly don't I realize? What should I go to school and realize? The "its" and "thats" and "those things" have no directed meaning here. Congratulations, you've proven yourself an idiot once again, without my help.
LOL, your... Rights ? what I was talking about is way more than rights, kid :D and those things not directly related you have to learn them by yourself, im not your fucking teacher nor mother.. LOL
I hope that plane's cost doesn't come out of that guys paycheck. If so, he'll wish he had died in the crash. Though honestly (to be serious) I was surprised by how long he actually kept the plane flying. 2 thumbs up!
WOW he had large ones to ride that hing out after it was on fire!

Russian seats don't have the Zero Zero capability and therefore causes much more injury.

Topi29 4 years ago
I checked again: right engine was blokked, left engine was also in fire (from mirror and from the ground)and in emergency mod, lamps and warning systems were demaged, they show nothing. For the MiG-29B (912) if you release gears in that case the flaps and airbrakes doesn't go out automatic, moreover you can not use the airbrakes. Thanks for all and all the best.Bye

"Lead, you're on fire!"...is one of the only three things a good wingman says.
Others:
"Two's up."
"I'll take the fat one."
RingSight91 4 years ago
The MIKOYAN-GUREVICH MIG 29 has a built-in ILS (instrument landing system) wich provides pilot support when landing. basicaly, when the landing gear is down, the system automaticaly engage the airbrakes and lowers the flaps to make the craft easier to control at low speeds. I don't know if that is the reason why the pilot lowered the gear, but i guess it made perfect sence to him.

? Saying that he let out of the front landing gear before ejecting is so stupid.. why in the hell would have he done a thing like that.. and why would somebody have the possibility to let out of the front landing gear lol, thats so stupid.. the aircraft went down because he fucking ejected and was not holding the fucking yoke anymore, lol.. please dont post bullshit.. thanks
Fr33dom34 4 years ago
1. You let out the front landing gear so that the nose drops and you dont have to spend more time in the plane further risking your life.
2. like handre says you are a fucking idiot and please refrain from posting your bullshit on other peoples videos
-thanks
iavakx85sam 4 years ago
letting out the front landing gear would make the front less heavy, causing the nose to drop, idiot..
i i wil ldo what i want to do.. if the guy is idiot, peoples have the right to tell him. period ;)
Fr33dom34 4 years ago
Letting out the front landing gear WOULD make the plane tail heavy, you're right on that. But the thing is, if the plane is tail heavy, the nose will RISE, not drop.
Rexpilot0990 4 years ago
well that is what I am explaining to you ! idiot, I used reverse psychology to make you say it yourself.. now that you said it yourself, no need to argue more.. the nose would RISE, not DROP.. idiot ! so he did not do that.. end of discussion
Fr33dom34 4 years ago
Then why would you say this? "letting out the front landing gear would make the front less heavy, causing the nose to drop, idiot.."
Rexpilot0990 4 years ago
listen, kid, letting out the nose landing gear would make the plane go hi, and not go down. now if there is something you dont understand in that, just learn aviation, but get the fuck lost, LOL.. let your moms computer alone, you obviously make no sense.. period.. lol
Fr33dom34 4 years ago
I understand what's going on. I know aviation more than you know your own parents. I understand that dropping the nosegear makes the plane tail heavy, and will cause it to pitch up. What isn't being understood here is that in your post 6 down from this one I'm wasting my time responding to, you claim that dropping the nosegear would make the plane pitch down, which is not true.
Rexpilot0990 4 years ago
The computer isn't my moms, and taking cheap shots at me isn't the way to win an argument you know you already lost. I don't see why you keep telling me I'm right after I corrected you in your other post here. I make complete sense, but the thing is your logic makes as much sense as your "sentences" in your posts.
Rexpilot0990 4 years ago
And for another thing, don't tell me to get the fuck lost. I do whatever the fuck I want, boy, and you're not about to change it in the least bit. If you think making stupid, senseless responses to my posts on a website bothers me, or makes me question my logic, you're dead wrong.
Rexpilot0990 4 years ago
As for people reading this, if you look at this "idiot"'s post 9 down from this one, you can see he claims the nose would drop, which it wouldn't, then later claims he was using "reverse psychology", which I doubt he even knows the meaning of, then continues to make overly aggressive posts in an argument with himself, telling me I was right in my post 8 down from this one.
Back to school, youngin'. You have a lot of learning to do yet. Good try though, what are you, 7th grade?
Rexpilot0990 4 years ago
looking at all the words you wrote, lets assume you are so frustrated to have lost this argument that now you are working fucking hard to try to get it back.. too late kid.. ;)
Fr33dom34 4 years ago
Why is it that if I write a lengthy paper I have to be frustrated with the argument? Those are independent characteristics, and just because I wrote a long paper doesn't mean I'm frustrated.
No. YOU get the fuck lost. You are an idiot.
Rexpilot0990 4 years ago
Why is it that if I write a lengthy paper I have to be frustrated with the argument? -----------> LOL :) it shows us that education is not your strenght here ;)

Go back to school, little boy!
Rexpilot0990 4 years ago
my english is better than yours even if its not my first language, kid ;)
Fr33dom34 4 years ago
Where was the mention of English? Once again, you have skipped through my message, only to believe you were right in the first place, propmting you to make another senseless message. Your English sucks, and don't call me "kid", because you're probably the one still in Jr. High.
My English is better than your first language, which is probably "idiot".
Rexpilot0990 4 years ago
so frustrated, kid, you must have one really unhappy life :D
Fr33dom34 4 years ago
Hi!I am so sorry for my english, but you know I wanted to make clear this this discussion only. You are perfectly right about my english. Most of cases I use speaking instead of writing.Sincerelly: - Topi -
Topi29 4 years ago
oh and yes, kid, you get the fuck lost.. its just that you dont even realise it.. read Fromm.. go to school a bit and youll realise that, as all those things that are around you but you dont realise it ;)
Fr33dom34 4 years ago
Nah, I understand my rights, boy. What exactly don't I realize? What should I go to school and realize? The "its" and "thats" and "those things" have no directed meaning here. Congratulations, you've proven yourself an idiot once again, without my help.
Rexpilot0990 4 years ago
LOL, your... Rights ? what I was talking about is way more than rights, kid :D and those things not directly related you have to learn them by yourself, im not your fucking teacher nor mother.. LOL

Amazing how he still controlled this almost lost plane, you can really see how it immediately starts to tumble ehen he ejected, incredible.

I hope that plane's cost doesn't come out of that guys paycheck. If so, he'll wish he had died in the crash. Though honestly (to be serious) I was surprised by how long he actually kept the plane flying. 2 thumbs up!
