It would appear that nobody had the inclination to question this footage for 80 plus years.Probably because they were more interested in the plot of the film. So what we are seeing is someone in 1928 with their hand cupped to their year. Do they have to be conversing with anyone? Do they have to be chatting to anyone?
I don't know what it is, but it does look like a cell phone. radio technology in 1928 used vacuum tubes, radios of that time were about the size of a large microwave oven. transistors were invented in 1948 and were not in commercial use until about the mid 50's. And being portable? I don't think there were batteries that small back then, maybe I'm wrong. Michio says time travel may be possible.

Now let’s say that there is a line for each day of the year in a century. That would roughly calculate 36,535 lines, depending on when leap year lands in that particular century. Let’s say it spins in counterclockwise motion. Take one of those lines, L1 represents present time. For simplicity go to the directly opposite side; rt doesn’t matter which line you choose because the bowl is symmetrical. If you could get from L1 to L2 then you have solved the time travel conundrum

People make judgments based on limited knowledge & experiences. If we researched & debated the pros & cons. We need to consider the fact that we don't yet have information about future technologies .Opposed to the self centered conclusion without ever being able to have all the necessary information to make a judgment on Time Travel. Steven Hawkings already proved that time travel to the past is impossible. Paradoxes. say you traveled back in time and shot yourself. this would mean that there was no one to go back in time to shoot you, so therefore you wouldn't be dead. Paradox. Plus, it is physically impossible to keep the wormhole needed for time travel to the past open long enough to get through it. let alone open it in the first place.

@christiantechdude521 True. However, that's only a relevant argue when it comes to OUR place in history. Everyone assumes that if the person in the video is an actual time traveler that they are from OUR time when in fact they could be from our future where time travel is a possible thing.

@CrystalRaye obviously you didn't understand when i said that time travel to the past is impossible. It has been proven Physically impossible. Paradoxes and keeping a wormhole open is not physically possible , even in the future. Time elapsing will not change laws of nature. Although it would be a cool thing to be able to travel back in time, unfortunately it's not possible. However we've yet to try travel to the future :)

SO how exactly does one talk on a cell phone in 1928 when there are no cell towers or cellular network in place at that time. Given the angle of the film and the bright light, I would have to assume that she is holding her glasses or purse up to her face to shield her eyes from the sun. That's a much more plausible explanation.

She just might be high. Opium was pretty popular back then, especially in middle aged and older woman. I think we may just be looking at an old school junkie talking to her imaginary friend while somehow comforting herself with her hand (I see no cell phone) on her face. sorry, inconclusive. I can't definitely say that I see a person talking into a cell. I don't see any object in her hands at all. For instance, she could she be scratching her temple area for a moment, or playing with her hair, or fixing her hat, or adding more shade to her face. Not convincing at all....Nothing here suggests she is speaking into a phone.

Who is she talking to? Why isn't anyone on the street not looking to see what she is talking into? This is 1928 and nobody is looking at or stopping to see what she has. Is it something a lot of people have at that time? Did she say Scotty beam me up or out in the last run? Because she just disappears from the film.

Any one who has a basic understanding of the laws of physics should be able to confirm that time travel is not actually possible, and never will be. However i did receive a letter on the 30th of april which was dated 1st of May. So what do I know?
