@pseudomyne, thanks alot. Luminous is the word. The selling of bodies and patriotism is a powerful metaphor, and I wanted to broaden it to war and bullfighting rather than homosexuality. Gays did not invent prostitution or strip clubs after all but came late to it. I focused on the emptiness of patriotism during the dark days of the Bush Administration following 9/11 when Eitzel wrote this brilliant song.
