Hang those maFI(F)A criminals! They screwed over the English-speaking-world big style and must pay!
And it gets even worse, evil Blatter will make a Qatari his successor. Boycott the 2022 World Cup, but don't boycott Russia in 2018, even though England should have won it, it will still be a great world cup.
i honestly think australia should have won the 2022 world cup for sure, being from russia, i was obviously happy when russia won, but i was taken aback when i found out that england had only got 2 votes, one of which their own :/ everyone in russia though england were definetly gonna get it!
really disappointed about australia though, they never had a world cup, and i love australia... not a boiling hot arab, oil rich tiny island with a few million people... (no offense to qatar, but its true)
The Wall Street Journal" Julio Jrendona President of the Argentine Football Association received a bribe by a $ 78.4 million from Qatar to support its case to host the World Cup in 2022
@BRUNY65 Firstly, please learn to turn your caps lock off in all your messages. Shouting doesn't do you any favours.
Secondly, get over yourself. Whether or not you like it, soccer is the world's most popular sport - by far. Please learn to appreciate this fact. If you don't like it, that's fine, just don't expect others not to like it too.
Thirdly, please learn some English spelling and grammar. The plural of 'country' is 'countries' and it should be 'their own football', not 'there'.
It's so annoying world cups don't make countries safe. Look at South Africa, I was there and there was such a tense atmosphere compared to Germany in 2006. Qatar should never be considered. What football history do they have? I'll put bet on they lose every group game. It should have been England 2018 and Australia 2022. FIFA will be happy but you could hear by the reception in the hall it took place in especially for Russia that people weren't happy.
@MrNottsCounty "footballs faster growing television time zone" just summarises the fact that australia is in most of eastern asias time zone, and asia is the fast growing region on earth, with already 75% of the worlds population. asia also currently has the largest television audience in the world. australia is also part of the asian football confederation, moving from oceania in 2006. fifa world get these benifits and be attracting this market if australia host the world cup.
@philsoulja Yeah thanks for explaining, but I already knew all that - it was just funny how she tried to fit it into 2 seconds, I bloody hope those fifa officials dont taint the bids for the world cup, england 2018 & Australia 2022 would be freakin awesome, but I'm afraid USA might take 2022 or Japan for that matter - lets hope Australia can make an impressive enough bid, but we honestly dont have the proper stadiums to impress the world, if AAMI Park would be reconstructed maybe then :P
@MrNottsCounty IMO i think USA and Japan won't get it.. They've already hosted it before and in Japan's case it was only recently. 2018 will definitely go to England but i think Australia are in a strong position to take the 2022 slot. I know some of the stadiums aren't big enough but all have proposed upgrades. I mean.. in South Africa they had to build 5 new stadiums and 5 more had to be upgraded. If they can do it, so can we. Anyway hopefully Aus will get it!
@rwian yeah we wouldn't have to work so hard if AFL would allow us to use Etihad Stadium! it can hold 55,000 - other than that all we have is the SFS, MCG, ANZ Stadium, Lang Park anything else needs reconstruction - it'll be alot of work but hopefully we can pull it off, just under a month now!
@rwian Unfortunately England didn't get 2018 and I was shocked that Australia didn't get out of the first round. I really thought it was a two-horse race between USA and Australia for 2022.
Australia should have definitely won it for 2022, Oceania has never hosted it and are a proud sporting country, and hosting the world cup could boost football hugely down there. It's a real shame that instead they gave it to a dot in the middle east.
