I got one of these about 4 months ago. It's very very durable and you can hear different pitches in between drums. To me, it's got just enough bounce to play and practice shiny clean diddles. The rims are a VERY good addition because 32nd notes between drums becomes clean and slowly and slowly rim-shots just fade. The laminated pads are hard to leave a permanent dent, but with giant sticks and accents, it is possible.
