2. The scene, like the movie, does take literary liscence but there is a purpose to it and that is to show attitudes or perceptions people had (or still have) about interracial relationships, ie. (white women being submissive and adventurous, black men being studs and amorous, etc.)

oh my bad, thanks for uploading. hey! do you have that scene where he gets off the train and walks in the bar and meets west indian archie? the scenes between delroy lindo and denzel are absolutely epic! those are my favorite scenes in the whole movie! delroy should have gotten an oscar for that role. in my mind he will always be west indian archie. his best performance ever!
