The insects making all of that noise are cicada. Also called locusts in some regions (as someone called them below). However, the term locust is more correctly used for a migratory form of grasshopper. Cicada are NOT a type of beetle (order Coleoptera). They belong to a different order called Heteroptera, the true bugs.

Thanks Paul, one the best things I have done other than eating, living, organic unprocessed food, is giving up TV , my wife still can't believe it, almost a year and 1/2 since I saw you in Dallas and it made since and I just stopped. @Zippypo Stick with vibram5 fingers site to order. Vibram does not offer discounts and only authorise resell by brick and mortar stores. These cutrate offers are always knock-offs and counterfit, showing odd colours Vibram never has made and uses inferior elastic, rubber and child labour.. You can never call them because they have no phone numbers. Just beware! The Vibramfivefingers are a wonderful product when properly fitted.
