This video shows the gas coming up the outside of the well casing 0:53 - 0:58. It is believed by almost everyone (Halliburton demo) that the gas entered the well casing in the "annular" - the space between the well casing and production casing between the 8Th and 9Th casing strings due to the missing liner. Had it entered the outside as shown, it would not have entered the riser and come up to the rig – DUH

There is enough responsibility to go around starting with the f***ing government sitting on it's ass, ignoring safely warnings. BP also used 6 of 21 centering pieces and left out the hanger liner (gasket) on the ninth casing string.

The likely cause of the "blast" was igniting the gas that had already accumulated on the deck for several seconds you dumbass ASSociated Press. Why don't you get your facts together before you let your mouth overload your ass?

Solution = install ball valve to flange on BOP or well head.

Solution = Remove drill pipe and insert 500 -1000 ton lead or uranium cylinder.

Haliburton set the cement, BP didn't care enough to do the bore lode test despite it being the only way to know if everything went right. Quite obvious who is to be blamed.

It does seem the oil company for some reason seems intentionally not stopping leak. Especially when we ask how they're gunna fix it and they say ... ooh we'll just siphon it off no big deal. my guess its not getting fixed so the ceos can buy them selves enuff time to strip the company clean then scuttle & bail and preparing legal insurances they personally aren't held liable.

Because apparently BP decided not to conduct proper testing that would detect fails when everything could have been stopped.

If there really was a decision by someone from BP to speed up things and shorten the tests, then they are to blame.

I think this was a case of managers trying to cut losses and imposing economical objectives over what should be merely technical decisions.
