I always thought it was odd that the college depicted is fake, but the opponents are REAL. Before anyone makes any stupid remarks back to me, I fully understand that no university would want their school portrayed in this way with sensitive subject matter that's touched on throughout the movie. That said, this is one of the better football movies ever made, which reflected what a lot of sports were going through in the early 90s. It had quite a few good lines, like at 4:05.

Anyone who says the Program is "over the top" has never played D-1 football. I did, and this movie came out 4 years after I graduated. Still gets me hyped when I see it!! If you did not see it the Friday it came out (as i did) you missed the deleted sceen of them lying in the street in the middle of highway traffic. Some college kids tried to mimic the stunt & were killed. The Sceen was deleted the next day. Most realistic football movie ever.
