Whenever I hear the word 'rally', the first thing I think of is Colin McRae, I mean the guy is the embodiment of rallying, he is what it is all about, I rarely cry, but when I heard of this, I had to leave the room for a couple of minutes to compose myself. Such a waste of talent, he made the sport exciting, he was the only reason I watched the show, it was like he put on a show for everyone, it was brilliant, he was brilliant. R.I.P Colin McRae you will be sorely missed.

In the interview the reporter was joking about how nervous he was getting into the helicopter with "McCrash". Such a loss. Such talent. I will never forget his roll during the x-games that he drove away from like nothing happened.

It has nothing to do with that, pilot error happens on all ends of the spectrum, JFK Jr. also had a broken leg, Colin Mgrae probably just made on stupid mistake and thats all it takes. Live fast die fast, he was an incredibly talented guy but no one is immortal.

it wasnt his fault the helicopter crashed, there was a mechanical problem. People in the nearby village recalled the helicopter making strange noises before the crash. He was a fully qualified helicopter pilot as well.

It's a pity Colin flew his helicopter in the same way as his rally cars - fast and furious (as was found in the accident report, plus his flying licence had expired). Its even more of a pity that two young boys lost their lives in this copter crash, one of them being Colin's son

I JUST found out about this yesterday! I was shocked! While I am not a follower of rally racing (this will change) I ALWAYS pick up the latest rally racing video games. It's my favorite type of racing game on the video game consoles. I was playing DiRT on my 360 yesterday when I went online to read about it and thats when I found out about Colin and the helicopter crash. This is such a bummer. Seemed like a great guy and awesome driver. RIP Colin.
