I would think that in their early days the Talking Heads got the exact same kinds of criticism. Not all music speaks to everyone, and this genre isn't my cup of tea. @phriesen look the word dope can and should be used as freely was anyone would like. usually i dont liike this hipster shit. everything usually depends on what type of music you are into. i prefer hip-hop for ex., and i appreciate the beat behind this song...these white chicks are pretty ridiculous but if you listen carefully- esp. towards the end there is somewhat of a hip hop feel/sound to it and maybe that's why solange knowles does a re make to this song with a dr. dre beat in the back.

@phriesen The attempt to sing passionately? She's obviously passionate about it... maybe not in this video where she looks bored while lip-synching but when performing live she gives it her all. And how exactly are the lyrics "fake"? Do you think it's impossible for her (or whoever in the band wrote the song) to have ever been or currently be in a relationship where these words seemed valid?

If it turned out that this band was all over-dubbed or something then I'd be bugged... but as long as it's them making the music... I don't care how "real" it is as long as it sounds good.

yeah this song is dope but this video is too funny (and not in a good way). it seems like an add for urban outfitters or "anthropology." the wolves slightly save the video until the white girls start dancing in their matching ensembles.

@MultiContrarian I'm not saying that I love this band but I appreciate and respect the high level of art that they are producing. I would think that in their early days the Talking Heads got the exact same kinds of criticism. Not all music speaks to everyone, and this genre isn't my cup of tea. But it's very well done, and damn that girl can sing, at least acknowledge that. Anyway, videos are odd. This one isn't all that strange compared to say "Money for Nothing".

What I see is a piece that is certainly attempting to be art, but the effort is so strained and put on, in my opinion, that it's artistic merit is completely lost, and has become almost laughable. I will grant you that she has a good voice.

Can we please stop the hate for a moment - again please. These women own beautiful voices. And I think the video echoes their beauty - this part of Vermont owns an enchanting, magical feel. And the beauty of the women echoes something equally beautiful, 'the goddess' if you will. Lastly - let me qualify this by stating that I'm Black. These women can dance. White women can dance. She is beautiful i loved her solo it was beautiful at the end. Her singing voice is awesome its better than any of you HATERS so WIN.
